denying marriage to same-sex couples violates the
state's constitutional guarantees of liberty and
equality to all Connecticut citizens. The
judge was engaged and thoughtful, Ben made a
strong case, and our eight plaintiff couples spoke to the media

and one woman. GLAD supported NHFTM, analyzing
the potential legal impact of such an amendment,
providing research and talking points, and rallying our
troops to write to legislators and show up at the
