I visited the site advertising this event and didn't find any hate speech or plans for governmental takeover by religious groups. The site talked of making change through finding Jesus in your heart or something like that.
I also looked at the links on the website and they didn't link to any offensive material and one them even featured a segment about the ongoing needs of Hurricane Katrina victims.
What is the point of this protest? To point out that you don't like other people's choice for their own personal belief system?? And how does this fit in with a pluralistic society and people's First Amendment rights?
I am well aware of kooks like Pat Robertson (who was booted off the Christian Broadcasters board of directors recently), Jerry Fallwell and others, but I don't think that focusing on "rank and file" types accomplishes anything except creating more misunderstanding between people.

Why does the Ron Man specifically want to make a point of appearing at SF City Hall and why did he specifically mentions gay marriage as being the reason why that would be so meaningful for other Christians. Ron Luce is closely connected to both Jerry Falwell and President Bush. All of the information about why people believe he's a bible thumping, homophobic, sexist, racist, INTOLERANT facist christian is right there on the website if you know how to read. Looking at the history of christianity particularly from the perspective of people of color around the world could provide reasons for a certain amount of criticism and negativity. actually forget history, we're in the midst of a war overseas right now against "evil non-christians".

A senior at our school just died from overdosing on heroine, and yet people are against this battlecry of saving a generation? There is too much pain, hurt, lonliness in the youth of today, they need help...and to this we pledge our battlecry to saving a generation!

It peeves me to hear that some people are "good" people. They may have good intentions, but for the most part we are all bad people. Even the christians... we are all bad people... we sin because Adam and Eve messed up and ate the apple when they were told not to. We have to walk around daily trying to die to the ways of this world because naturally that's what seems right. I mean... i'll just go with my gut feeling on things... right? WRONG!!

He doesn't hate the gay.. he doesn't hate those who have abortions... he doesn't hate those who gossip... he doesn't hate those who kill... he doesn't even hate those who think he doesn't exsist... HE loves YOU.. and he sees you and is WAITING for YOU to come and show your love for him. By all means... test what you hear...

Pray about the words people tell you about the Lord and I believe he will show you the truth and he WILL... if you want to... truely want to know if God in real in your heart... ask him... and i believe that if you TRUELY want to know... I WILL let you know he is REAL...

God has good plans for us... but this does not come free. It comes free in the sense that no earthly amount of money can buy a relationship with God. But through believing in Jesus Christ and accepting the salvation that Jesus died for our sins on the cross. So a relationship with God, like Jesus, it too will cost you your life and the giving of yourself to Him.. and relying him and praying and understanding... and BELIEVING in faith... that his ways are perfect... But more importantly.. that his love is perfect and his love is more true than even the most faithful marriage relationship or friendship relationship in the whole earth!!
God is beautiful.. the God who made this earth... how can we deny that God isn't real. And for those who aren't sure and question whether God exsist... ask Him.. if you truely long to know... I pray and believe that he WILL reveal himself to you.. He is a true God.. and Battle cry long to see the hearts of the lonely and broken, know the love the God has. That they can realize that they can have an amazing relationship with this beautiful God who loves them so much. SOOO MUCH... that is what battlecry stands for... if you see other wise.. I pray that you would look deeper in their intentions.. becuase they have nothing but love for people.. and realizing that there are truths that God has for us... and that his LOVE can see through a multitude of sins...

What battle cry is trying to do, is not to convert people to a cult, as some see it likened to, but to grant people the hope, the love and a life and freedom and eternitiy in Heaven, that God originally intended for all of us.
So I rebuke any lies you've been fed otherwise... Because Satan HATES YOU... he HATES YOU.. he wants to see you more miserable that you ever have been before... and although his ways may seem easy... and God's ways may seem hard... God's love cannot even begin to compare to even the BEST thing that you could of think happening to you or having anything you want. We just have to be willing to reach out and grab it... to touch Him.. To seek the face of God with everything that we have within us.
I pray that whoever reads this... I pray that you too realize that God loves you. That you are beautiful no matter what people say. That he thinks of you more than the grains of sand on the earth. (Psalms 139:17&18) God thinks of you MORE than the grains of sand on the earth... I MEAN GEEZE!! that's amazing... He loves us and adores us that much... He is waiting... Waiting for you.. his beautiful child... His beautiful creation... You were made to worship him...
I pray that you would accept God.. and ask him into your life. I pray that you would ask Jesus to come into your heart and to forgive you and also ask him to reveal his love to you and his ways to you, so that you make walk in the promises of God. I pray that you would be blessed by his ways and I pray that you would realize just how amazing this God is who is waiting for our love and our lives. He loves us.....

Jeez enough about "misspellings" in a forum where many a sentence (yes, the left as well as the right) is missing proper punctuation, has misspellings or poor grammar, or the user cannot think of anything other than slang or cursing to express their feelings. Dear Ron Luce et al,
Thank you for doing so much to educate the troubled youth of our country regarding God's Law. I have learned a great deal from you, and I try to share that knowledge with as many people as I can. When someone tries to defend the homosexual lifestyle, for example, I simply remind him that Leviticus 18:22 clearly states it to be an abomination. End of debate.
I do need some advice from you all, however, regarding some of the specific laws and how to best follow them.
a) When I burn a bull on the altar as a sacrifice, I know it creates a pleasing odor for the Lord (Lev 1:9). The problem is my neighbors. They claim the odor is not pleasing to them. Should I smite them?
b) I would like to sell my daughter into slavery, as sanctioned in Exodus 21:7. In this day and age, what do you think would be a fair price for her?
c) I know that I am allowed no contact with a woman while she is in her period of menstrual uncleanliness (Lev 15:19-24). The problem is, how do I tell? I have tried asking, but most women take offense.
d) Lev. 25:44 states that I may indeed possess slaves, both male and female, provided they are purchased from neighboring nations. A friend of mine claims that this applies to Mexicans, but not Canadians. Can you clarify? Why can't I own Canadians?
e) I have a neighbor who insists on working on the Sabbath. Exodus 35:2 clearly states he should be put to death. Am I morally obligated to kill him myself?
f) A friend of mine feels that even though eating shellfish is an Abomination (Lev 11:10), it is a lesser abomination than homosexuality. I don't agree. Can you settle this?
g) Lev 21:20 states that I may not approach the altar of God if I have a defect in my sight. I have to admit that I wear reading glasses. Does my vision have to be 20/20, or is there some wiggle room here?
h) Most of my male friends get their hair trimmed, including the hair around their temples, even though this is expressly forbidden by Lev 19:27. How should they die?
i) I know from Lev 11:6-8 that touching the skin of a dead pig makes me unclean, but may I still play football if I wear gloves?
j) My uncle has a farm. He violates Lev 19:19 by planting two different crops in the same field, as does his wife by wearing garments made of two different kinds of thread (cotton/polyester blend). He also tends to curse and blaspheme a lot. Is it really necessary that we go to all the trouble of getting the whole town together to stone them? (Lev 24:10-16) Couldn't we just burn them to death at a private family affair like we do with people who sleep with their in-laws? (Lev. 20:14)
I know you all have studied these things extensively, so I am confident you can help.

Christian teens believe that there is a God who loves and guides them and to whom they are accountable. Battlecry is a place where they can be supported in their desire to resist the daily barrage of pressure in schools and in pop culture--e.g. pressure to have meaningless sex and to escape reality with drugs and alcohol In responding to these teens with name-calling and a lack of understanding of their purpose, the radical left has shown that their only tolerance is for themselves and their own belief systems. A difference of belief is not intolerance. The sincere faith of the teens and the sincere ridicule of those who don't share the faith are both protected speech, at least so far in our country. Neither party should deny the other that freedom or dehumanize or intimidate through negative characterization.
People in this country can discuss their differences without venom and hostility--they can agree to disagree and make their cases in any forum they choose. In some countries being Christian is cause for a death sentence. We are fortunate that both gay pride marches and Christian rallies can be legally held.
The only intolerance shown in this issue is that of an official asking the Christian group to leave the city.

To "an open letter" - you cite many verses from the Old Testament, which is closely adherred to by the Jews. Shall we add anti-Semitism to the hate projected here?
And as for "lazy", just because I don't have time to be researching "proof" doesn't equate to "Laziness" - again, uneducated assumptions that you cannot justify unless you walk a mile in my shoes and have the work day I experience. But while researching, why don't you go ahead and find the works of Mother Theresa, of missionaries putting their lives in jeopardy to help others, of countries that put you to death just because you claim the Christian faith, of how leaders following Christianity got rid of slavery, opened up the right to vote AND abortion rights to women, fought against segregation, etc. Balance your argument, otherwise all you are showing me is that there are zealots who mis-use Christ's name to further their cause. Christ, if you read the NEW Testament and listen to His words (just Him, just focus on His words, not what the apostles said to really get why I follow Him) was all about love & peace. Nathan: I'm not willing to run around with you over semantics and definitions of the word "hate," "tolerance," etc. Nor do I share your assumption that the secular media can even begin to cover Christian events and understand the jargon and means of storytelling. What I will tell you is that I was present for the finale Saturday night and heard what Ron Luce said directly with my own ears. Any social movement that bases their current and future actions on the tail end of the book of Judges kind of speaks for itself.

I saw a few posts that bashed on Battlecry, now my question is why? i mean was it really worth it to show up with signs to protests your disapproval? or did you not want to spread aids or another std to each other and decided to try to protest? i mean email me and lmk wat your reasons were.

Once again, look at the statistics, is this not a generation in crisis? The condition is not only bad, it is getting worse. It is clear that as Christ is removed from the center of our lives as a whole, we fall as a whole. We have got to keep our vision clear, Christ didn't die for just the Christians, his sacrifice was for everyone, whether they be serial killer, homosexual, rapist, alcoholic, drug addict, or whatever else. Christ changes lives, because he is the perfect model of love, giving up his life for those who are selfish and seek ways to justify their sinful desires. This is also the intentions of Christians, to accept people despite their sin, and teach them truth in place. Christians do not condemn the homosexuals, the drug addicts, alcoholics, or etc., but rather desire to help change lives. Our generation has become too tolerant of the things that are wrong in the sight of God. “Human rights have made the wrongs O.K.” Is it possible that the rights we are given are much of our problems? Do the research (from an unbiased viewpoint), and you will find the truth for yourself. For too long now we have claimed things to be our "rights" when in truth this is just a word we can use in place of "justifying sin”. I pray that anyone reading this finds the truth, and can see past those who give Christianity a bad name. It is all about love. God Bless.
Mike: I was there too, and like you I heard it all with my own ears. It's absurd to base anything off one single book in the Bible. Without the full picture that one book would be highly flawed and incapable in attracting a multitude of ethnicities, denominations, lifestyles (my friend is struggling with homosexuality and he attended battlecry as well, call me a liar if you want, it doesn't matter to me) to a commonality. So I disagree, but appreciate the point-of-view.

Wow i'm glad that this is getting so much publicity. It's really great that all of these people who don't know Jesus...yet, are making such a big deal about these battecry events. The more they fuss the more people are going to know about battecry and hopefully come to know Jesus. Obviously christ is moving otherwise the devil would not be so opposed to it.(not that I am calling people who are opposed to it the devil)

Slogans can just cut through the fog and grab people's hearts and minds in ways that no other kind of speech can. Slogans can become battle cries, like "Remember the Alamo!" A good slogan can make or break a politician's campaign:

-"It's the Economy, Stupid!"
-"Ein Land, Ein Volk, Ein Führer!"
Dr. Robert J. Lifton, who did much of the original research on Chinese Communist brainwashing techniques, called such slogans "thought-stopping clichés". He found that such slogans constrict rather than expand human understanding. They stop people from thinking.
Thought-stopping slogans can be used to jump to completely illogical conclusions: "People are more important than things. So let's drill for oil in the Anwar National Wildlife Refuge."

Jose, I pray for you to have Christ's love influence you in your love of others. Your anger & frustration is evident; your reflection of Christ's love through your actions is not. I ask you, would you have delivered this speech to Christ Himself? Think about what you say, how you say it, when you represent Your Lord - you are His representative here, and He wants all to know his love, not the Devil's hatred. We love you too, bro'.
Oh, and J.C. tho' I no longer live there, I (and my family) are native-born from San Francisco, a most beautiful city with some of the most beautiful people. Chicago isn't perfect (spent a lot of time there), neither is San Francisco. So, please, don't degrade the name of my beautiful town (where we hope to move once our kids are grown); it doesn't deserve it. It may have more controversy & diversity in it than most can deal with, but it's in that diversity that we find such beauty. I might add, it's probably the only town in the U.S. where we've felt such acceptance with our mixed marriage.

I recommend people interested in a non-violent religion which doesn't proseletize others so emphatically should learn more about Buddhism, if for no other reason than comparison. If there was ever an example of a religion that has caused no violence and no wars to others around the world, that has to be it.
If nothing else, it would be nice to hear about a religion OTHER than Christianity on these pages, just for a change...

God is an Indian Giver is online to be read or purchased. It is part two of the Sean Kayne series. Sean is a comedian and the detective figure in this series. Humor is often his strongest weapon in his day to day battle with demons inside and out.
Before I continue I would like to point out what some followers of Jesus might term a miracle. I won't go that far but it is very weird. On the souls of my family I swear it isn't a hoax, publicity stunt or a trick with photoshop. First, think the image of Jesus Christ's face on the Shroud of Turin, then consider how I created the artwork for the back cover. My nephew Charles Baruffi, soon to be famous as the head animator of a dark new animated film, allowed me to peruse old sketches in his portfolio. Several were perfect for this book and future books. I took the artwork of the woman who would be the back cover art and I held it down with my hand over the scanner bed. Mind you the position of my hand in all likelihood created the imprint in the news print. Later after the artwork and book were published I could clearly see his face. Jesus Christ ala the Shroud of Turin was there in the background, almost as if imprinted in sand. I show everyone now and they agree. When I tell them it wasn't purposeful but accidental they agree it is very odd.
Seeing as this book centers around my Catholic upbringing and a war between heaven and hell, certainly there is a little more reason for the Lord to make an appearance on the back of my book to give me his personal endorsement. Being a starving artist who would love the book to sell, I am not so humbled as to miss this opportunity to exploit it for self enrichment. I hope that he will forgive me. Being God he probably already knew I needed the boost. Or perhaps he hates the book. Come to think of it he's not smiling in the picture. Hmm.
Anyway, maybe it's just a hand print...That looks like God. Regardless, the artwork both front and back is awesome and the book is pretty cool too.

Part One When Demons Snap can be read first or second. Both stories stand on their own but share clues to the bigger picture in the ongoing series. As the character grows, he deals with drug and alcohol abuse and its effects on his relationships. Eventually Sean stops fighting symptoms and concentrates on the larger cancer. He comes to realize that he lives in a system designed to victimize and enslave the people and this revelation fuels his rebellion. A revolution that is in all likelihood destined to fail. However, the Lord is a big fan of the fat lady and rarely leaves the opera before she sings.
