SEIU Strike Rally Shakes SC County Building
After 6 months of working without a contract and County administrators' attack on workers' salaries and health care, the 1,800-strong SEIU 415 went on strike on March 14. Pickets were set up all across the county - from Santa Cruz to Watsonville - yet the highlight of the day was a mid-afternoon rally at the County Building where, after reportedly marching through 5 stories of the building, hundreds of workers danced in the streets to old school hits and more by SEIU's own DJ. With solidarity from workers and students all over the Monterey Bay, County employees notched another mark in their struggle to support their families.
All photos are free and available for use by members of SEIU 415, the Monterey Bay Central Labor Council (MBCLC), and UCSC's Student and Worker Coalition for Justice (SWCJ). Please contact sugarloaf [at] riseup.net for additional/larger photos and/or to reprint. Thanks!

So, in the guise of striking for your rights, you had a dance party in public buildings and on the street? A DJ FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!?! You obviously have too much spare time on your hands at work if you have time to organize a hooky day party like this. I think I will call the board and recommend cutting jobs, since you don't seem to have enough to keep you busy.
Only the best for the working class.
