March 18 Global Day of Action — San Francisco

by A.N.S.W.E.R. Coalition (answer [at] actionsf.org)
On Saturday, March 18 and Sunday, March 19, 2006, locally-coordinated demonstrations will take place in cities and towns across the U.S. and around the world. As the war and occupation of Iraq becomes an increasing human disaster now is the time to say no to the U.S. war drive. In San Francisco on March 18, 2006, the 3rd anniversary of "shock and awe", we will be gathering at 11am at the Civic Center for an opening rally followed by a march through downtown and then returning to the Civic Center for a closing rally.

"The anti-war sentiment is a majority sentiment," says A.N.S.W.E.R. Coalition.

With Bush's approval rating on Iraq now at an all time low of 30 percent, anti-war demonstrators will take to the streets in locally-coordinated protests between March 18 and 20, 2006.  "The A.N.S.W.E.R. Coalition has organized many of the largest demonstrations in Washington DC and around the country in the past three years.  On this, the third anniversary of the start of Bush's criminal aggression against Iraq, the anti-war sentiment has undeniably become the majority sentiment," stated Brian Becker, National Coordinator of the A.N.S.W.E.R. Coalition.  The A.N.S.W.E.R. Coalition initiated a united anti-war demonstration of more than 300,000 people on September 24, 2005, in Washington DC.

On Saturday, March 18 and Sunday, March 19, 2006, locally-coordinated demonstrations will take place in cities and towns across the U.S. and around the world. On Monday, March 20, young people will organize acts of resistance in their schools and communities. There will be rallies, marches, civil disobedience actions, and student walkouts all over the country.
