Philippine President Declares a state of emergency. Rally at Philippine consulate today.

by The Ghost of Tom Joad
The Philippine president Gloria Macapagal Arroyo has declared a state of emergency in the Philippines in response to an alleged coup attempt by rogue military officers. Despite the fact that all guilty parties have been arrested and the coup attempt has been thwarted, the Philippine government still proceeded to ban all political rallies and is seizing any media outlets that they perceive to be aiding any attempt to destabilize the Philippine goverment. Please join us in a rally today at the Philippine consulate that's being organized by the Gabriela Women's Network. That's the Philippine Consulate at 445-447 Sutter Blvd. 6/F San Francisco, CA 94108 at 4p.m. today.
