RAW will challenge and inspire you to discover your authentic self as
powerful female performers and artists peel back the layers of their
identities. Multi-generational artists will explore the complex
contradictions of self-image, cultural definitions of femininity and
the
media's depiction of women. The production includes an outrageous talk
show
host, Barbie vs. Bratt dolls, news from the streets, dancing, music
videos
with a new spin, visual art installations, and more! Far from your
typical
sit-down performance, this intergenerational community production is a
creative grassroots masterpiece to uplift the soul.

Contributors include: Artistic Director and Choreographer: Heather
Watkins,
Visual Art Curator: Tina Bartolome, Featured Visual Artist: Favianna
Rodriguez, Loco Bloco's young women's ensemble Las Locas and more!

About the sponsors:

The Women's Building is a vibrant four-story community center dedicated

providing women and girls with the tools to participate equally in

Loco Bloco provides underserved multi-ethnic youth with hands-on
experience
in the live public performance of music, dance and theater.

Mission Girls, a program of Mission Neighborhood Centers strives to
provide
high-quality, culturally appropriate human services to young Latinas in
the
Mission district.
