I thought it was interesting to see that this was posted to Indymedia-- a place where people can post, and thus make, their own news.
Folks in the South Bay hardly ever post their news, including the updates to the DeAnza 8 story (I'm talking about since that one person posted all of their photos, good and bad, like 15 sets of them). We even have a South Bay news page to highlight this stuff.
And yes, a lot of those folks do know about Indybay!

The event (which was to table concerns about violence, harrassment, and intimidation at KPFA) lasted about three hours-- the representatives (including a conflict resolution expert specially brought in for the meeting)-- minus the Station Head (who had just resigned)-- tabled some views and then SPLIT.
The room was largely left to concerned listeners alone.
When the gentleman from S. Bay Mobilization turns and says he wished to speak to KPFA: they are not there. There are only empty chairs at the front of the room.
He turns to the listeners to express his concerns.

The San Jose folks didn't show up to the Town Hall until it was almost over, and then expected to speak at the top of the stack -- before all the other people who came to the Town Hall on time and actually participated in it. They are not actually concerned about KPFA but just wanted to publicize themselves. Otherwise, why NOT arrive on time and take an active part in the Town Hall? They probably aren't even listeners, but have been useful to Fadi Sabi who keeps insisting they've never gotten coverage on KPFA when in fact their arrests were covered eight separate times on the air.
Instead, they arrived at 3:30 p.m. and expected a stage on which to grandstand. Fadi has been using these folks to whip up anger at KPFA. Unfortunatly, that's the focus of the People's Radio group -- they are anti-KPFA and want everyone else to be, too.
