2/21: Press Conference & Rally At Oakland City Hall On April 7, 03 Attack On Anti-War Protes

by Transport Workers Solidarity Committee
There will be a press conference and rally at 4:30 PM on Feb 21 at Oakland City Hall to protest the role of the police, the global shipping
companies and the US government on the attack made on April 7, 2003 against peaceful pickets and
longshormen.

Press Conference & Rally
Oakland City Hall
Tuesday February 21, 2006 4:30 PM
Called By Transport Workers Solidarity Committee
Endorsed by ILWU Local 10 Executive Board
AMFA Local 6 President Joseph Prisco

Expose The Cover-up By Oakland Police, Port Of Oakland, Shipping Employers &
CA/National Government

On April 7, 2003 in a pre-meditated attack, Oakland police and the Port of Oakland in collusion with global shipping companies attacked peaceful pickets and longshoremen who were standing by as a result of a picket line against the war in Iraq.
The police attack with rubber bullets and other weapons injured many demonstrators and longshoremen.
The need to expose the reasons for this and the role of Oakland Mayor Jerry Brown, and Oakland City Council President Ignacio De La Fuente as well as others who supported this attack is critical.
The settlement by the City Of Oakland for financial damages does not end the need to expose the reasons for the attack on egregious violation of our civil liberties and labor rights.

Please join this press conference and rally to expose the truth about this
attack.

"Water. Over. The. Dam."

How right you are! Folks oughta just let it go and forget this incident from way back in 2003 - ancient history that has nothing to do with current events! The government and police would never spy on anti-war protestors or attack a peaceful rally again! And why remind people of this uncomfortable alliance between current mayoral candidate deLa Fony and Attorney General candidate Jerry BrownShirt to push law and order to the police state level?!?

It can't happen here!
