Green 9-11 Truth Candidate Calls for Impeachement at MLK Rally

On the fourth anniversary of a march on Congresswoman Eshoo’s office to demand a Congressional Investigation of 9/11, Carol Brouillet organized a rally for Truth, Peace and Justice, and to announce her decision to run for Congress.

The day was also the anniversary of another march demanding an end to the 9/11 cover-up, repeal of the Patriot Act, and the pre-emptive impeachment of Bush, Cheney, Ashcroft before they could launch the war against Iraq.

The day was January 15th, the birthday of Martin Luther King Jr.. King was quoted extensively, and Ed Rippy remarked, “The first thing we need to remember today ­ Martin Luther King Jr.'s Birthday is that in 1999 a jury verdict found that the governments of Memphis, of Tennessee, and of the US conspired to assassinate Dr. Martin Luther King. They used the Carlos Marcello Mafia family to do the dirty work, but Military Intelligence also had a sniper team there for backup. What they call “organized crime” is actually one of their assets, and so are terrorists. I’m going to speak today about Ali Mohammed (“the American”), the best example we know about of our government’s Islamic terrorist foreign policy assets…”

Ed Rippy and Riva Enteen were part of the delegation that met with Senator Feinstein and Boxer’s staff in January 2002 raising the first, hard questions about 9-11, that the government still has been unable to answer. After many marches, rallies, events, films, articles, books, many believe that the serious issues they have been raising for years need to be part of the campaign dialogue.

Eshoo is being challenged for her failure to question the official 9-11 story, and for her role in supporting the Intelligence Transformation Act which expands the National Security State. Brouillet stated, “National Security/Homeland Security/FEMA provide us with a false security based on sophisticated weapons, surveillance devices, and control over communications systems." After becoming law, Bush appointed John Negroponte into the Director of National Intelligence position that Eshoo's Act helped to create. In the early 80s, Negroponte notoriously managed the US military's terror and torture campaign against Honduras and Nicaragua.

Brouillet critized the security offered by the Bush administration, and instead offered her own definiton. "This militarization threatens the Real Security of most people- their health, well being, civil rights. Real Security means water, food, clothing, shelter, medical care, and healthy relationships between people, and between people and planet."

Only a couple weeks before this rally, the National Green Party came out demanding the immediate impeachment of both Bush and Cheney. Carol echoed this demand, “We need a national dialogue on Impeachment, and the responsibility of the American people and Congress to rein in a criminal regime."

Two other Green candidates for office spoke at the rally: Laura Wells, who is running for State Controller, and Tian Harter, for Senate.

Other speakers included newly elected City Councilman Peter Drekmeier, Swami Beyondananda, T.U.C. Radio’s Maria Gilardin, Director of the Northern California Interreligious Conference- John Bass, Joyce Lynn, David Kubiak, Dennis Kyne, Christian Pecaut, and Katrina Morrow.Steven Gray, and Annie and the Vets played music and sang songs.

ABC- TV came by, but filmed from a distance. The event was filmed by community access programmers, and will be edited for community access TV and internet broadcasting.

Brouillet is accustomed to media censorship which has forced the 9-11 Truth Movement to become very creative in getting its message out. She organized the publishing of over six million Deception Dollars, the premieres of 9-11 documentaries, the comedy/benefit- “Behind Every Terrorist- There is a Bush,”and the subsequent DVD, the San Francisco International Inquiry into 9-11, and helped get 9-11 Truth TV up and running.

Encouraged by the Green Party and the Northern California 9-11 Truth Alliance to run, she is relying on a grassroots organizing campaign to get her message out directly to the voting public. Carol Brouillet concluded her speech on a note of hope and a call to action, "As citizens, our greatest duty, to ourselves, to our families, to the world, is to rein in our own government, to hold it accountable for its actions. Regime Change should begin at home. We owe it to those who walked before us, who have given their lives for peace, justice and truth. We have a responsibility to oppose tyranny in all of its forms.
