Blessings of the New Moon!
Gung Hay Fat Choy!
Happy Chinese New Year!

The Aquarius New Moon always heralds the Chinese New Year! With it we welcome the year of the Fire Dog.

According to noted astrologer David Weatherly, this will be a year of passionate expression, independent thinking and spirituality. Those born in the Year of the Dog are very loyal people who adhere to a strong code of beliefs. As a result of this influence, he believes there will be a shift in the way our nation views its leaders. Fairness and rooting for the "underdog" will be a priority. Those in charge will be under the scrutiny of watchful eyes. The public will begin to demand a greater degree of accountability from those elected to office. Social and spiritual issues move to the forefront. Last year, the year of the Rooster, gave much more control and influence to government agencies. Being rebellious, the Dog's energy will cause many people to begin to react strongly to restrictions placed on them in 2005. I do hope so.

Unfinished business from last year should be concluded by the Spring of 2006 for the best outcomes. Although not a sign of great wealth, the Dog is good in business and always has enough to be comfortable financially. This is not a year to take great risks with finances, instead, focus on creating greater stability.

The Fire Dog is rebellious by nature and 2006 may bring periods of conflict. He also says, "On the negative side, beware of gossip and those who are a bit too nosy about your private affairs during this year. Dogs like to take control of situations, whether it involves them or not. The Fire Dog is sensitive and can be moody and temperamental. We can expect to see this manifest in the shifting moods of the populace. Dog years often bring fads that catch on suddenly and just as quickly fade away... Erratic weather patterns will also be a part of 2006, especially in the late summer and fall. Likewise, late 2006 is not a good time for foreign travel."
