According to a report on KTVU news last night (Dec 26th), the city
of Concord is seeking to close the Maricare medical cannabis
cooperative. The report said there were complaints about parking
problems around the facility, which is located in a residential
neighborhood. The city of Concord passed an ordinance banning
dispensaries
last October. The report included an interview with attorney Joe
Elford of ASA, who have filed suit to overturn the Concord ordinance.
According to the report, Concord police have given Maricare a few
days to find a new location outside the city limits. (The report
neglected to note that there is at least one other medical cannabis
facility presently operating in Concord, in a nearby commercial
district).
