Dublin Collective Raided by PD day after Christmas!

Dublin Medical Cannabis Collective Raided
Protest at Dublin City Counciol - Jan 3rd, 7 PM

Lisa of the Dublin Greene medical cannabis collective reports:

We need help!

Yesterday (Dec 26th) at approx. 2:30pm the Dublin Police
Department raided the Dublin Greene and the home of
the owner Cindy. They took from the premises around
2lbs of herbal medicine in storage jars and edibles,
hash, bud, merchandise (T-shirts), all the store and
patient records and about $11,000 cash from the store
and employees. Patients were turned away by the police
as the investigation was being conducted. No arrests
were made.

The Dublin Police claimed that they were working from
a tip that we were conducting the "illegal sale of
marijuana". He also said that our store was not
located in the correct "zone" for this type of
business. Our store is in a light industrial office
space in an industrial park across from the police
station. I explained to the Sargent that were were not
selling but were receiving donations and we have not
made a profit.

Our club has approximatly 120 patients who mostly are
residents of Dublin, Livermore, San Ramon and
Danville. We accept OCBC cards, check IDs and verify
Dr. recommendations. We are a true co-op as our
members contribute edibles and medicene
and are reimbursed for their expenses. We have done
everything we could to provide safe, quiet, local
access for patients and fit into the neighborhood.
The store has not turned a profit and in fact the rent
was being paid from a credit line.

The Dublin Greene was open prior to the city of Dublin
issuing a moratorium on August 16, 2005. The Dublin
Green shared space with it's sister T-shirt shop
Ducky's. Both are DBA's of CT Creations. CT
Creation's Dublin business license is 10 years old and
is for wholesale/retail non-defined (to include
T-shirts, soaps, personal care and herbal products).
Cindy the owner, suffered from lyme disease for
several years and had even been wheel chair bound for
a time with the disease. Medical cannabis helped her
return to a normal life. When opening Ducky's, the
T-shirt shop, she felt she would also be able to help
other patients with their medical needs and dedicated
the back part of the space to a very cheerful club
where patients feel like they are patients and not
criminals.

We are requesting help from the community and your
organizations. Supporters are urged to join us at the next meeting
of the Dublin City Council on January 3, at 7pm. The
agenda will not be posted until Thursday. Counsel
meetings are held at:

Please post and email this around.

Monday, December 26, 2005 the Dublin Greene was raided
by the Dublin PD with Livermore assisting. A Dublin
PD officer dressed as a patient gained access to the
store and then was followed by several gun weilding
narc officers. They seized around 2lbs of processed
medication along with patient records, t-shirts with
angels on them, personal things of the employees and a
small amount of cash $6800 that belonged to the store.
They handcuffed the employees and then more than 30
minutes later produced a search warrent. Both the
shop and the residence of the owners was raided and
things listed on the search warrent were left behind
while money, credit cards, cannabis, and patient
records seemed to be the highest priority during the 8
hour raid. Police also froze the personal accounts of
the owners. Police were "alledging the illegal sales
of marijuana" as their reason for the raid. No
arrests have been made.

What you can do to help the Dublin Greene and Ducky's!
Three things.

1. We are asking that everbody who supports medical
cannabis to call (even if you don't have a card or
don't live in the area), email or fax the Dublin City
Counsel and the Dublin PD and tell them "We want the
Dublin Greene Collective open today", return the
patient records. Let them know what you suffer from
and the benefits of medical cannabis to you. Tell
them you don't want to drive out of your neighborhood
to get your medicine.

2. Come to the Rally! We will be having a ralley and
open house December 29, 2005 from 2-8pm at the Dublin Greene/Ducky's 6711B
Sierra Court, Dublin, CA. Look for the neon ducks in the window. We are
behind the 6701 building facing the street. You can
also phone in your support 925-989-0724.

Please come visit and show your support. Bring
friends, family, no need for a cannabis card we will
not have cannabis on site that day.

3. Join ASA and CANORML and tell them to support the
Dublin Greene.

The Dublin Greene is a collective and has been open
since July 2005 and has about 120 members. All
members and employees hold a cannabis card or have a
Dr. recommendation. It is known for being a clean,
safe, cheerful, "mom and pop" shop serving patients of
the 580/680 corridor. Our patients are good people,
young and old and have diseases such as psorissis,
cancer, arthritis and IBS. The hours of the shop were
2-8 in order to not conflict with the surrounding
tenants in the industrial park.

The Dublin Green shares space with it's sister store
Ducky's, an ebay store. Both are owned by CT
Creations founder, Cindy Thomas age 61. Cindy, who is
a long time sufferer of lyme disease, was at one time
bound to a wheelchair, wanted to establish a
compassionate care facility after marijuana helped her
recover from the dibilitating effects of the lyme
disease. "I wanted a safe local place for patients to
gather, become friends and be able to provide for each
other," says Cindy. The Dublin Greene was established
for all the right reasons and is known for giving
patients edibles, medicene, t-shirts, and most every
new member walked out with the signature "Ducky" soap
(a bar of natural soap with a rubber duck embedded in
it). "I wanted The Greene to be a fun place and a
part of the community", Cindy continues, "and it was,
people who were uncomfortable with getting their own
mediciene blossomed and everybody thanked me on a
daily basis for this club being in Dublin." Patients
no longer had to travel to Hayward and Oakland for
their medicine. "You would think that the Tri-Valley
would be happy to keep their residents safe in their
community instead of having to travel to other cities
where they would be exposed to the element that the
Dublin City Counsel strives so hard to keep out of
it's community."

CT Creations has a legal business license that is
around 10 years old. Dublin does not have a
permitting process and in fact placed a moratorium
when asked for a permitting process. The moratorium
was voted in by Dublin City Counsel on August 16, 2005
a month after "The Greene" opened. "We aren't doing
anything illegal, we are doing what the voters wanted,
providing a space for a clean, safe collective." Much
of the start up expenses and the rent came from credit
lines from the family home.

Please call Dublin City Counsel immediately and tell
all your friends, family and other patients to do the
same.

Thanks,
Lisa
