The protests are great but are not threatening to the status quo. We need a general strike by labor on December 12. That would put an end to the death penalty immediately as the only thing the perpetrators of the death penalty, the capitalist class, care about is their profits.

We also need to keep repeating: When you vote for any Democrat or any Republican, you vote for the death penalty as these 2 parties are the twin parties of the capitalist class and their death penalty, a weapon of class terror against the workingclass. You will abolish the death penalty when you stop voting for any Democrat or Republican and always vote for Peace & Freedom or Green Party candidates, 2 parties that are anti-death penalty and whose candidates will certainly work to repeal the death penalty.

We could also use a movement to put a death penalty abolition proposition on the California ballot. Of course, only 12 million of California's 27 million adults vote at all, and most of those are not the workingclass.

We have all been watching these demonstrations in Sacramento and elsewhere and what is very clear is this is the workingclass vote we have been missing, and of those who do vote, they usually vote for the death penalty Democrats. Death Penalty Democrat Attorney General Lockyer is busy making sure Nazi Schwarzenegger gets to murder yet another human being, namely Stanley Tookie Williams by opposing all appeals.

Some of us have been watching this show for decades, protesting in whatever way we can, but also wondering, what is it going to take to make people stop voting for the death penalty Democrats, and start voting for the anti-death penalty Peace & Freedom and Green Party candidates? What is it going to take for labor to shut down this state every time there is an execution?

This writer heard on KPFA's 6 p.m. news on Dec 11 that the entire state prison system will be on lockdown on Dec 12 and that the Los Angeles school system is preparing for a possible outbreak of violence. A labor general strike could easily put an end to the death penalty if the State is so afraid of our small protests that they have already taken these measures.

I've been reading your broken record comments about a general strike... republicans... and democrats.... for a long while now. Can I suggest that your comments have no relation to reality on the ground and you should just shut the fuck up.
We are 100% volunteer and depend on your participation to sustain our efforts!
