IMPROVED TRANSIT SERVICE AND PEDESTRIAN SAFETY PROPOSED FOR GEARY BOULEVARD
San Francisco’s Most Active Bus Corridor Slated for High-Quality Improvements

San Francisco, CA - November 28, 2005. Residents and business owners are invited to participate in shaping bus rapid transit on Geary Boulevard through a set of public workshops hosted by the San Francisco County Transportation Authority in partnership with MUNI and other City agencies. The second series of workshops for the Authority’s Geary Corridor Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Study will focus on conceptual design alternatives for the Richmond, Geary/Masonic intersection, Geary/Fillmore intersection, and Tenderloin/ Downtown built on the community input received during the first series of public workshops held in April 2005. Community participants will have an opportunity to weigh in on how well designs respond to key objectives such as raising transit service levels, improving pedestrian safety and access, meeting neighborhood business and residential needs, and enhancing urban design.

Feel free to call Bobbi Lopez at La Voz Latina de la Cuidad Central/THC for more info on how to become involved in giving community input. (415) 775-7110.

Workshop translated in Vietnamese, Spanish and Cantonese.
