Get Ready For December 20th
"Over on the other side of the country in San Francisco antiwar activists plan to hold a huge rally on December 20, where Clinton will be attending a bar association benefit with an interview session with Jane Pauley."
Joshua Frank:
"How nice it would have been for the antiwar movement had they held Kerry's feet to fire during last year's presidential election. But one has to be glad that prominent leaders like Medea Benjamin and publications like The Nation, which is also stating that they won't be supporting any pro-war candidate in the future -- are finally coming around. The liberal myopia that infected so many may at last be wearing off."

Senator Hillary Clinton has canceled her Dec. 20th appearance at the SF Masonic Center, and rescheduled for late January.
The San Francisco Masonic Center announced Tuesday Dec. 6th, "due to a potential conflict with Senate duties, we must postpone this event. We hope to reschedule it for January 2006."

Medea Benjamin campaigned for warmonger Kerry and thus cannot be trusted. She is now making noises about running against Pelosi. The Greens ought to have someone better than Benjamin. I usually just skip the Congressional race and if all we get as "opposition," I will skip it again.
The Democrats are clearly in trouble when their leading hustler, Hillary Clinton, cancels an appearance in a Democratic Party stronghold. The peace movement in San Francisco ought to be able to come up with a stronger candidate than Medea Benjamin. Peace & Freedom Party has run candidates against Pelosi; hopefully they will do so again.
I hope the peace community finally votes for a P&F candidate instead of Democrat Pelosi. Then we will know for sure the peace community is really for peace.

Seems 99.9% of all progressives in 2004 went for Kerry, or did not strongly oppose him because they feared that a Bush reelection would have dire consequences. Well, there, they were RIGHT! Medea, as exceptional as she is-- as an activist, as a public speaker, as a concerned citizen-- was not exeptional for doing what many other fine and thoughtful people chose to do.
Unfortunately, they were all wrong on strategy: a strategy almost tailored to help Kerry fail and succeed at marginalizing independents and Greens.
Kerry probably would have won by a landslide if he had shown some spine and opposed the War.
The ABBs who supported Anyone But Bush failed to realize that ANYONE could have defeated the worst president in living memory-- had they united behind a person who would OPPOSE Bush on the major issues. Kerry mostly opposed Bush on trivial issues.
Clinton advisors "advised" Kerry to talk about domestic issues and avoid talking about the war.
We know now what happened. By narcissisticly hoping not to appear a "spoiled-spor", Kerry conceded the election to Bush-- even ignoring his running mate's promise to wait until every vote was accounted for.
It is quite likely that Kerry may have actually won the popular vote by a significant margin!
Because Kerry was silent-- and is silent to this day-- progressives are still disunited about what to do.
Medea Benjamin is no dummy, but her weakness is loyalty (to her followers) and her forte is action. Stay tuned.
I still expect great things from her.

You meant to say: Don't hold her back!
Why do right wings irrelevant shills even bother trolling when they are cowards who can't engage in any coherent conversation? And, to top it off, they'll be deleted so fast, no one will read their comments...
