Kern County Board of Supervisors will be voting on the approval of medical
marijuana cards for residents on Tuesday.

A new program, Medical Marijuana Identification Card Program, will issue
identification cards to qualified patients and allows them to grow, smoke
and transport small amounts of pot for medical purposes.

The card program is legal, but information applicants provide can be used
against them in a federal prosecutions.
