The Ecological Landslides of Climate Change and their Causes - From Fossil Fuel Burning to Environmental Injustice

Wednesday, December 7th, 7pm - 9 pm

New College Cultural Center, 766 Valencia Street, San Francisco

Scientist finally confirm that we may have only 10 years to turn things around. Let's talk about how, who and why. The talks include a slide show of recent facts on the ground including research on melting polar ice caps, hurricanes, ocean acidification, and changes in the Gulf Stream.

Speakers:

Maurice Campbell - Sits on the steering committee of ANSWER Coalition, Bi weekly radio KPOO host of Connecting the Dots, Sits on San Francisco CCA Community Choice Aggregation Committee on how energy will be purchased in the future incorporating Wind and Solar from ESP's Electric Service Providers, and various Environmental Justice organizations and committees.

Maria Gilardin - Producer of the weekly radio program Time of Useful Consciousness. Has done environmental writing and reporting since 1992. Recently produced a 6-part radio series on Climate Change and wrote: Apocalypse Now? How Mankind is Sleepwalking to the End of the World, posted on TUC Radio's web site http://www.tucradio.org/new.html . Maria is building a straw bale house with solar electric.

The event is FREE, donations to Maurice's work in Hunters Point or Maria's TUC Radio are welcome.
