Eureka Recruiting Center Shut Down
by nativetrees
Saturday Nov 19th, 2005 7:39 PM
Eureka, CA
November 18, 2005

The Eureka Military Recruiting Center was shut down for the day by approximately 200 peaceful protesters of the U.S. led war on Iraq. Present at the protest were students, peace groups, Buddhists meditating for peace and people young and old who are disgusted with Bush’s war for oil.

Participation in this sparsely populated area was high, partly in protest of police brutality and the arrest of four cyclist on route to an earlier war protest held on November 2 at the Eureka federal building. Bicyclist riding from Arcata to Eureka for the November 18th protest tripled to approximately 100 riders.

Like the earlier protest, a CHP helicopter brought in from Redding circled overhead and police used scare tactics with the presence of rubber bullet weapons and tear gas launchers. This is not a usual tactic in this area for protests and represents to activist an escalation by the police. No arrests were made but at least 6 harassment citations were given to protesters for such things as riding a bicycle on the sidewalk and obstructing traffic.

Too bad, I just left the North Coast and am back on the Gulf Coast where W stickers and beatings on government steps is still in vogue.

I have a song for those who want to die in the electric chair. I was a veteran, turned informant on fed banking regulator, and then I discovered we do not mean a hill of beans to those who shanghaied the USA government and capsized much of industry.

I present this song, Wood is already free, but the song that follows is Stone Cold In My Electric Chair, filmed in New Orleans before the storm. It is linked at Sydney Indmedia in streaming windows format

http://sydney.indymedia.org/front.php3?article_id=54951&group=webcast

I also invite you to view other videos of abuse with music and my own investigation discoveries into corrupt banking regulatory practices and their entourage of cut throats. Mobile Audit Club. P.S. Is your defense system obsolete?

The pic is for sale for $911 with 10% or $91.1 going to Tookie Williams, death row inmate if you desire.

Man, when I read this headline I was like, "fuck yeah, that's some serious progress! They got a recruitment center shut down!" and I was super happy, but then I read more and realized that it wasn't "shut down" meaning "closed for business forever because some intelligent people made a real effort to convince the locals or the people in charge that what they were doing was a bad idea" but rather "shut down" meaning "temporarily inconvenienced". Bummer.

Wow! gReat fReakinG joB! I love it! You have totally inspired me! I, too, live in a smaller community and I understand that some cops can have nothing better to do with their time than try to mess with you. They must know that they really deserve a lot of shit because why else would they dress up in full S&M costume for PEACE demonstrators?

Way to keep up your presence! You've inspired me to take on new action.

Thanks, again. I know that the people of Iraq would appreciate it, as would the soliders who are stationed there against their will.

Congratulations dear protestors from Humboldt State University former student Hippie Joe. The evil Bushwarmongers and their nazi police persecutors are going to be expelled from Iraq by the people of Iraq. It is Bush and his criminal cronies who belong in cells and Libby and Rove and Cheney and Rumsfeld are on their way to the defendents dock in federal court!
Here's a message to all you pro-war freaks out there from Hippie Joe: FUCK YOU BABY KILLERS IN USA MILITARY UNIFORMS! Tuck your tails between your legs, wrap your silly yellow ribbon around your neck, and get your murderous, torturing slime-bag ass out of Iraq while you still can. You are nothing but a lying mercenary hiding behind the flag and you don't deserve any support from Americans for doing Bush's dirty work. I don't support you! You are a war criminal with innocent blood on your hands. Don't expect a pat on the back from me buddy, cause you don't got nothing coming but the bonus blood money you earned when you volunteered to go kill Iraqi children for George W.Bush, your
leader and your hero.
by shut down recruiters to prevent DU poisoning

Great pics out there in humboldt nation, the CHP fascist goons looks too ridiculous dressed for combat with the dangerous peacenik hippies!!

Everyday a military recruiter office is the site of peaceful protests is one less day the deceitful and manipulative recruiters can brainwash some young person to risk their life and future by serving in Iraq to benefit the Bush regime oiligarchy..

The radioactive depeleted uranium exposure needs to be exposed to the public, many veterans from Iraq are experiencing symptoms of DU exposure, DU in the tank armor and other sources were kept secret by military recruiters..

For the Iraqi people DU is an ongoing threat due to fragments of DU remaining in the environment. The responsibility of the DU cleanup rests on the individuals making profit from the seized petroleum reserves, namely Halliburton and Bechtel, they also have the technological resources to clean up the radioactive DU fragments. Let's get Cheney et al. some radioactive suits and a geiger counter to track down and remove the DU toxins from the Iraqi ecosystem..

"For use in nuclear reactors and nuclear weapons naturally occurring uranium has to be enriched to increase the level of fissile uranium, U-235. The leftover product is depleted uranium, in which the level of fissionable uranium 235 has been reduced from 0.7% to 0.2% by the enrichment process. Uranium 238 makes up over 99% of the content of both natural uranium and depleted uranium. Depleted uranium is roughly 60% as radioactive as naturally occurring uranium, with a half life of 4.5 billion years. After 50 years of producing enriched uranium for weapons and reactors the US has a waste stockpile of depleted uranium in excess of 1.1 billion pounds.

In a novel method of waste disposal, depleted uranium is being given away free to arms manufacturers for use in armour and munitions."

Poison DUst: New look at US radioactive weapons (movie)
http://www.iacenter.org/poison-dust.htm

Doug Rokke, former US Army Major and DU program Dept. head had this to say about DU;

"What Should Happen Next?

The international community and all citizens of the world must raise a unified voice in opposition to future use of depleted uranium munitions and force those nations that have used depleted uranium munitions to recognize the immoral consequences of their actions and assume responsibility for medical care and thorough environmental remediation.

Specifically:

1) Depleted uranium munitions and the use of depleted uranium must be banned.

2) All individuals who were exposed or who may have been exposed to any form of depleted uranium and its various integral contaminants or other contaminants created during combat, research, or training activities must receive a through physical examination and medical care to alleviate or cure the physiological consequences caused by inhalation, ingestion, or uranium wound contamination.

3) All depleted uranium penetrator fragments, depleted uranium contaminated equipment, and depleted uranium oxide contamination must be cleaned up and disposed of at secure sites."

Was putting a guy on a block, attachin wires to him and telling him he would be electrocuted if he did not tell all torture? Or coercion? Pulling fingernails, beating, breaking bones, near drowning, sure that's torture. Laughing at a nude man and saying he has a small dick? Then I have been tortured for years.

You may be able to make a joke about it now, from the comfort of your computer-console, but imagine if it were you or one of your family members in Abu-Ghraib!!

On the recruitment center doors was a sign left by the recruiters which said something like this: Gone for the day,we are at the high schools recruiting your children. Ha Ha. Few people look for jobs on Friday. To have a national recruitment center call for shutdown on Friday lacks foresight. It would be better scheduled for any other day of the week. One more depressing note the "critical mass" (picture of cyclists on the Eureka Slough Bridge) had a prearranged police escort---basically the critical mass called for was taken over by veteran authoritarians who like to dictate to others, especially feral youth, how they should protest. The wide acceptance of police helicopters---people in Humboldt have fought "marijuana eradication" helicopter use for years--- was also disappointing. To sum up most of the hippies felt great that they had filled some obligation for another six months.A real bummer.

concerning the "police escort":
The highway patrol told those who talked to them that a PERMIT was required in order for the bike ride to happen. The permit was to cost $1000 or something, and the riders refused to pay. The CHP "escorted" and harrassed the riders anyways.

concerning the "acceptance of helicopter":
just because the helicopter was not shot down does not mean that it was "accepted." Yes, it would be nice if the majority of Humboldt residents would show some support for the riders, but I hardly think that the hedlicopter was seen as "ok" by the riders.

concerning the take-over of critical mass by "authoritarians":
well, that's pretty much on the mark, as near as I can see. It was a critical submission of the masses, as local politicians played middle-man between the kids and the cops. The cop that assaulted Kat Zimmerman on Nov 2nd (named Officer Randy Price, CHP) should be held accountable for his VIOLENT CRIME. Instead, for some reason, a deal was worked out so that riders would not be assaulted again. Some deal.
STILL, I believe in supporting those that went on the ride (except sell-outs like Kevin Hoover of the Arcata Eye) for using bicycle transportation, defying the CHP as much as rationally possible, and not being afraid.
Hoorah for Critical Mass.
boo for the CHP and Kevin Hoover (why do so many people flip him off when he or Terry takes a picture for the Eye?...hmm, I wonder)

Ten USA Marines were killed in Iraq yesterdayby the Iraq Liberation Resistance forces. As a Vietnam-Era veteran I condemn these American warmongers and I remind you pro-war fanatics that the blood is on your hands, not mine.

I am carefully and systematically eroding American support for the illegal war in Iraq just like I did during the Vietnam war. I defeated you in Vietnam and I will defeat you in Iraq.

You pro-war butchers, fanatics, warmongers, aggressors and psychopaths will be drinking Hippie Joe's urine before it is all said and done.

Thanks, analysis and discussion about our actions wilI help in the future.
I agree that most of the riders didn't accept the helicopters, but the political leaders and those that follow them, in all news accounts I read and heard, including community radio KMUD, failed to mention the helicopters (and the excessive police state) that they had heavily denounced during the previous action on Dec. 2. They said things to the effect "there were no problems today".
Thanks for mentioning abusive CHPer Randy Price, what other information do we have on this guy?
The local politicians did in fact arrange for a police escort and for the highway to be swept clean, although critcal mass riders did not have to go on this "prearranged ride", most but not all did. I just thought it should be noted that at least in my view, the autonomy of the critical mass was subjected to authorities within the anti-war coalition.

Thank you so very much. I had actually been pondering which way to go, but you have inspired me. Please, please tell me which events you will be at!
BTW, your syntax is off. Doubt you are who you say you are. USA marines? Buddy, Americans say US Marines. As in USMC. Again, looking forward to meeting you and discussing your future.

(hippiejoelives [at] yahoo.com) Monday Dec 12th, 2005 1:56 PM
The problem with the US military is that it trains people to murder, plunder, torture and rob in the name of the flag and gives morally weak individuals an opportunity to become the very worst that they can be.
Lee Harvey Oswald was a good US marine, and real sharpshooter. The USMC is sent to kill. Unfortunately, too many of them come home to rob and kill civilians stateside, or, like some so-called Nemesis, think to make silly threats against anti-war activists who see through their phoney flag-waving game.
The war in Iraq is lost, done, over. The Bush administration has been defeated, and those who were deceived into going to Iraq under false pretexts to destroy and occupy Iraq are not deserving any thanks.
You should of had the brains and the guts to "Just Say No'; but be honest now: You wanted to go to Iraq and kill civilians who couldn't fight back. You wanted that bonus money and all the perks. You lied to yourself. You knew the war in Iraq had nothing to do with Osama Bin Laden, but it was so exciting to get to go kill and torture with no fear of serious reprisal.
Your conscience, if you even have one, should haunt you the rest of your life. Get out of Iraq!
