Workers’ Rights Hearing and March
Tuesday, December 6, 2005
First Unitarian Church, 685 14 th St, Oakland
At Castro St, downtown Oakland next to 980, City Center BART,
plenty of street parking
5:00 – Doors open, light refreshments
5:30 – Workers from East Bay Organizing Drives Will Testify
Workers waging heroic struggles to unionize will testify to how their rights have been violated before a
panel of community, civic, and religious leaders.
6:45 – March to Oakland City Council in Support of Comcast Workers
Comcast is denying workers free speech and organizing rights. The City Council will consider an ordinance
to protect workers’ rights. Join us to support them!
Despite protections in U.S. labor law and the International
Declaration of Human Rights, workers organizing on the job
are routinely intimidated, harassed, and fired. In observance
of International Human Rights Day, the Alameda Labor
Council invites you to join the fight for workers’ rights.
