[Ken's work in the early 1990s was not only one of the most successful indigenous resistance efforts to the oil industry, but the inspiration for a string of other efforts across the Niger Delta and around the world. Please be there to honor his memory, -Carwil James]
Dear Friends - Please join me this Thur & invite all your friends! We must not forget our friends (Ken, Terry, Marla) who've given their lives to stand in definance of what Saro-Wiwa termed "The Slick Alliance" - Big Oil, corrupt militaries & government greed. Join us this Thursday, November 10th, for an International Day of Action and Remembrance with people around the world to honor the legacy of Ken Saro-Wiwa and the Ogoni, who were executed 10 years ago for leading a successful, nonviolent campaign against oil pollution and greed. We will STAND UP! to Big Oil in solidarity with the Ogoni and indigenous peoples around the world to remember Saro-Wiwa, cast shame on Shell & renew our promise for environmental justice! Bring candles, poetry, prayers & friends (and don't forget warm clothes!). Date/time: Thursday, Nov. 10, 6:00 PM Please spread the word!
