KFC Bay Area PETA Campaign

KFC Bay Area PETA Campaign
Hello everyone,

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) has a campaign website called KentuckyFriedCruelty.com asking KFC to eliminate the worst abuses that chickens suffer in the factory farms and slaughterhouses of its suppliers. These abuses include live scalding, life-long crippling, and painful debeaking.

I am organizing PETA's Kentucky Fried Cruelty Daily Demonstration Campaign here in the Bay Area. The purpose of this campaign is to shut down one of the following locations.

To that end, I am calling for volunteers to demonstrate at one of the KFC's listed here.

San Francisco Locations:

- 1881 Geary Blvd @ 7th

- 2101 Lombard St @ Fillmore

- 1900 Irving @ 20th Avenue

- 691 Eddy St @ Polk

Oakland Locations:

- 470 Lake Park Avenue
(Lake Merritt location)

- 6035 Telegraph Road

- 4501 San Pablo Avenue
Emeryville

Please let me know which location works best for you. I'm asking people to commit to an hour on their chosen day but any amount of time you can manage is welcome. Once a week (or more) is ideal but even if you can commit to just one day per month, I'd love to get you signed up for sometime in November. All you have to do is let me know the day(s) you're available and I'll take care of the rest.

If you'd like to sign up, please respond to this notice with a specific day you'd like to participate. Or tell me how many times you'd like to go in November and I'll sign you up on a day where help is needed. The best times to demonstrate are between 6-7 PM on the weekdays or 12-1 PM on the weekends. However, if you cannot make either of those time frames, any time you can spare can be accommodated and would be appreciated.

* Monday–Friday from 6-7 PM

* Saturday and Sunday from 12-1 PM

Once a location is established (at this point, we're focusing on one KFC at a time), I will be available to join in many of the scheduled demos. I also have the privilege of using a PETA body TV screen to show KFC patrons and passers-by video footage of what chickens go through to become food.

Please Note:
You don’t have to have activist or demonstration experience to participate in this campaign. Although an activist all my life, I started my first solid campaigning only a year ago, and it was a new experience for me. I can guarantee you, you can make a difference in this venture if you can donate even a small amount of time.
I will do my best to make sure I or another experienced activist can participate; I don’t expect anyone to do this alone (but it’s fun when you do!).

Please feel free to email me with any comments or questions.

Pass the word on!
Tell your friends or anyone you may know that might be interested.

Thanks, look forward to hearing from you!
