As the November 20 national elections approach, Haiti's Interim Government--supposed champions of human rights--are determined to keep their power by any means possible, including systematic disenfranchisement and, frequently, violence. Brian Concannon and Mario Joseph, human rights attorneys, will discuss why the UN and the international community continue to support this repressive regime and how that support affects the legitimacy of their other international peacekeeping operations.
