Canopy KIds
Forest Canopy Activism Giant Redwoods Treesit, Spooner welcomes peaceful tree-friendly people to the upper world of the marbled murrelet.
Treesits are still happening in Humboldt county california and they are bigger than ever. Efforts are mounting to stop Maxxam palco from logging 200 acres of giant redwoods near scotia in the last unprotected canyon of original ancient redwood forest left. 1 mile east of riodell scotia on the ashpit road. This jewel of giants has with stood 150 yearrs of logging and it is the last water shed drainage filled with great giant trees. The trees may start falling anyday, if you want to experience forest canopy activism at its highest nearly 300 feet up this is the last place left to go so high up and see the top to bottom of the trees from the top of other trees. These super tall slender columns of life reaching to the sky is striking. Rise up and never give up, Tree Spooner will make your jaw drop 14 feet wide 270 feet tall massive double top come save one of the most beautiful pieces or the earth you will ever experience-jahn

Monoculture plantation forestry as practiced by Maxxam/PL may seem like there are trees everywhere, but why are they all the same size and height? Ecology is about canopy diversity, trees of varying sizes, ages and heights standing side by side. Monocrop plantation stands for timber harvest doesn't encourage biodiversity, instead shows a lack of endemic species and life in general..

Since there is less than 5% of the original old growth coastal redwoods remaining, the last old growth stand in a particular stream or creek watershed is very likely the last old growth stand of that said watershed. If this old growth stand is cut, that watershed won't see another stand of trees that size for at least another 300 years or so. Every lost stand of old growths is one less possible home for next years baby marbled murrelets forcing increased competion for nesting sites with other murrelets and a bottleneck (narrowing) of the gene pool that hastens the rate of extinction. Marbled murrlets don't have that much waiting time before the clock of extinction catches up to them..
EPIC talks about habitat loss causing the genetic bottleneck effect increasing risks of murrelet extirpation;
"Even without further loss of habitat over the next 50-100 years, the population probably will reach an extremely low level that probably could be sustained for a period of time. During that bottleneck period, the population could be sustained by adequate levels of reproduction by small numbers of birds nesting in certain parts of current unentered and residual old-growth habitats. During and for some time after this "bottleneck" period (i.e., at some unknown point between the present and 100 years from now), this remnant population will be very susceptible to any significant additional population impacts either in forest nesting habitats (e.g., habitat loss from logging, predation, fire, wind throw, human disturbance, and genetic problems of small populations) or in at-sea foraging areas (e.g., oil spills and other pollutants, gill nets, significant reduction in prey abundance or availability, or various other anthropogenic impacts that affect murrelets, their prey or marine habitats in foraging areas). During and for some time after this "bottleneck", factors which cause any significant additional adult, subadult or juvenile mortality or lower breeding success are likely to contribute to population extirpation."

It seems difficult to say anything when words are twisted and used against people if we don't spell everything out to the last word of specifics. Whomever, "b" is, they are good at twisting words and meanings, something police agents excel at..
IMC sites like indybay are attempting to provide a free news service with little or no censorship, an alternative to the corporate media. Since there is no censorship on imc sites anyone can post, even police or hired agents of misinformation. Some individuals may feel it is their duty to defend corporations like Maxam/PL to protect the struggling economy from entering a depression, though if they looked closer they may realize that it is the corporations continued aggressions against the ecosystem that is responsible for destroying the economy of the future to benefit their short term financial gain power trip. Regardless of who the pro-corporate people are, it can be tiresome to continuously correct false info posted by pro-corporate individuals who would be better off working with Bill O'Reilly at FOX news or some other Klear Khannel Kommunications fascist puppet radio station like KNEW..
It isn't a problem to point out additional info to people who are really unaware of the details of Maxxam/PL's timber harvests and the response from the community and forest defenders, though sometimes obvious dislike and malicious misinformation needs to be pointed out as such and subsequently ignored..
For the time being people like myself will continue using information to battle trolls like "b" with the assumption that they are simply people misinformed from daily exposure to corporate media bias and will patiently and politely post info that places value on biodiversity and long term ecological health instead of short term corporate profits and Bushite propaganda..
We won't give up on ya b, the truth cannot rest..

"Sky" is a shady character, not to be trusted. And anyone who would blatantly promote him or advertise for the world things that are supposed to be on the down-low is not to be trusted either. Or else, learn what "security culture" means before you come into Humboldt forest defense & mess things up beyond what they already are!
We are 100% volunteer and depend on your participation to sustain our efforts!
