THE PURPOSE OF THE EXHIBIT IS TO BRING AWARENESS TO THE LARGER CAMPUS COMMUNITY ON ISSUES REGUARDING INCARCERATION. MORE SPECIFICALLY, WE ARE ILLUMINATING THE PROGRESS, GROWTH AND INTELLECTUAL AND CREATIVE WORK THAT IS GOING ON WITHIN PRISON WALLS IN AMERICA. WE WILL BE SHOWCASING THE WRITTEN AND ARTISTIC WORKS OF AFRIKAN AMERICANS WHO ARE CURRENTLY INCARCERATED, AS WELL AS THE PUBLISHED MATERIALS OF PAST AND PRESENT POLITICAL PRISONERS. THEIR WORK ENGAGES ISSUES AROUND BLACK NATIONALISM,, "INJUSTICE SYSTEM," RELIGION, POLITICS, GANGS AND INTERPERSONAL RELATIONSHIPS.

GUEST SPEAKER BARBARA BECAL WILL BE AVAILABLE TO DISCUSS STANLEY"TOOKIE" WILLIAMS CASE AND TO SIGN HIS LATEST BOOK "BLUE RAGE, BLACK REDEMPTION."
