SAN FRANCISCO FILM PREMIER BY AWARD WINNING DIRECTOR FEATURED AT EVENT BENEFITING IRC REFU
The San Francisco Regional Office of the International Rescue Committee (IRC) is inviting the public to a reception and benefit screening of “Another Road Home,” a documentary film that explores the delicate boundaries of family, class and politics. All proceeds from the event will be used to fulfill the IRC’s mission of assisting refugees being resettled in the Bay Area.
What: San Francisco premier film screening of “Another Road Home” and reception to benefit the IRC’s Bay Area refugee clients
When: Wednesday, November 9, 2005; wine and hors d’oeuvres reception at 6 p.m. followed by the film screening at 7 p.m.
Where: Delancey Street Theater, 600 Embarcadero, San Francisco
Cost: $35 per ticket ($25 of which is tax deductible)

About the film: “Another Road Home” is the deeply moving story of Israeli filmmaker, Danae Elon’s quest to reconnect with the Palestinian man who helped raise her. Elon’s emotional journey takes her from her current home in New York to an Arab-American neighborhood in New Jersey and finally to the West Bank and Jerusalem. This evocative documentary by the daughter of the famous Israeli author, Amos Elon, tells the universal story of displaced people who find refuge and a sense of family in a new homeland.
