Berkeley Women in Black weekly vigil

Date:
Friday, November 04, 2005
Time:
12:00 PM - 1:00 PM
Event Type:
Protest
Organizer/Author:
Jane Welford
Location Details:
Bancroft & Telegraph

Join us when you can. We stand vigil each Friday to protest the ongoing Israeli occupation of Palestine; the murder of Palestinian adults and children, International Solidarity Workers and reporters, the torture of Palestinian and Arab prisoners including children, people often held for very long periods in terrible conditions with no counsel and no charges, the bulldozing of homes, olive groves and other agricultural lands, the stealing of the water supplies and the building of Jewish only settlements and roads and the huge apartheid Wall built on more stolen Palestinian lands. Peace is not possible without Justice and the fair sharing of resources. None of these Israeli government policies can possibly lead to a just peace! The pullout from Gaza is a first step, but Gaza's borders will still be fully controlled by Israel. Palestinians will have no port, no airspace control, and no freedom to travel to the West Bank without Israel's permission and no control still over water!
