ANGELINA JOLIE
20 th Anniversary Dam Buster Award
Oscar-winning actress Angelina is a dedicated advocate for environmental and human rights, and an inspiration to us all. In 2001, she was named Goodwill Ambassador for the UN Refugee Agency and has worked to protect refugees on five continents, bringing forgotten refugee crises to the attention of the world media. Campaigning for the environment in 2004, she persuaded Cambodian ministers to cancel a planned hydroelectric dam project that would have flooded a huge native forest community. For her steadfast work to help refugees and preserve river communities for future generations, Angelina Jolie is the recipient of IRN's 20 th Anniversary Dam Buster Award.
