Breaking News from Sept. 24th Protest

Sep. 24th 3:07pm: report from eddy and gough, at the top of the hill: 10 cops on horses, motorcycle police, cops on foot had a shout-down with anarchists; 50 more cops coming up the hill; black bloc might go to another corner
Sep. 24th 2:57pm: Becky from Bay Area Coalition for Reproductive Rights called in and reported back from their contingent. She talked about a speakout at DiFi's office before she had announced she would not support Roberts, and talked about why to vote no on Prop. 73 in California. March against Prop 73 on November 5th, starting at Dolores Park. Details TBD.
Sep. 24th 2:33pm: Rally in Jefferson Square Park started 30 minutes ago. People want Bush impeached. They are saying there were 300,000 people in Washington, DC. Rally in SF until 4:30 or so.
Sep. 24th 1:54pm: At Jefferson Park, someone just broke windows of an NBC 11 truck and spraypainted "Fuck the Corporate Media" on it, chanting "No war but class war" other slogans. There were no police in the area for 5 minutes. Everything is chill. The march is still going by on the other side of the van and a guy is selling pretzels.
Sep. 24th 1:41pm: The march began arriving at the park about 20 minutes ago, and the crowd includes a lot of the anti-capitalist contingent
Sep. 24th 1:35pm: A protest was held in Salinas today, with about 50 men, women, kids, saying they don't like Bush's new "morality" in which he is against using contraception, but he doesn't care if people eat, have health care, etc. Twice as many people as were expected showed up for the protest.
Sep. 24th 1:27pm: The Anti-Capitalist Contingent turned out of the march when it was on VanNess and some 200-300 people are marching in the vicinity of Eddy Street.
Sep. 24th 1:21pm: March has not yet arrived at Jefferson Square Park. Free Radio Berkeley has a demonstration table at Jefferson Square Park, but there is no microradio.
Sep. 24th 1:10pm: One Indybay reporter waited at 18th and Dolores until the whole march had passed; he could see that part of the march was now on Market Street.
Sep. 24th 12:33pm: Front of march waited at 16th and Church for people to catch up, then kept going.
Sep. 24th 12:24pm: Some police are splitting away from march as it goes up 16th, and about 200 of them got into buses, likely to go to Jefferson Square Park. Lots more cops are still lining the march.
Sep. 24th 12:12pm: One IMC reporter is at 16th and Dolores, with anarchists and "regular people" who were marching on the sidewalk towards the park. 30 cops behind them.
Sep. 24th 12:11pm: Hundreds of anarchists marched down Dolores on the sidewalk and arrived at 18th and Dolores to be a contingent The labor contingent was on the hill with hundreds, some 10,000 were on the flat area of the park, and thousands were in the street. The march is going down Dolores towards 17th.
Sep. 24th 12:03pm: Hundreds of police tried to keep people at 16th and Mission from leaving sidewalk, but let people go. The main banners at Dolores Park are getting ready to march.
Sep. 24th 11:57am: 20-30 Police reportedly approaching anarchist protest
Sep. 24th 11:49am: People are streaming out of BART, and Revolutionary Anti-Capitalist convergence has gathered at 16th and Mission and plans to join the march
Sep. 24th 10:19am: People are starting to gather- the ISO is at 16th and Mission, the Palestine contingent is near the park, and a few hundred are in Dolores Park
Sep. 24th 10:05am: SFPD is using a high school at 20th and Harrison as a staging ground, and they have borrowed some buses from San Mateo
