Join Labor On the Job when we cover the battle of Sutter Healthcare SEIU UHW workers in Northern California for justice. We also interview SEIU President Andy Stern about the strike and also the new Change To Win faction that recently left the AFL-CIO. He discusses the upcoming September 27, 2005 Change to Win Convention in St. Louis and his reaction to Katrina and the AMFA strike.
We will also have a segment on KFPA radio, Labor Media and Democracy with KPFA Labor Collective programmers Maxine Doogan and Roland Washington as well as SEIU 790 PUC Chapter Rep To SFC Bob English.
How is labor programming doing at KPFA and what can trade unionists do to build more support of labor media.
Finally Labor On The Job will screen segments of the new documentary "Solidarity Has No Borders: The Journey of the Neptune Jade" This documentary completed on the 10th anniversary of the Oakland picket line that prevented the ship Neptune Jade from unloading cargo that had been loaded by scabs in England. The successful action in support of the striking Liverpool dockers was joined by dockworkers in Vancouver, BC and dockworkers in Japan.
