MENE, MENE, TEKEL, PARSIN

Daniel 5:27 "TEKEL; Thou art weighed in the
balances, and art found wanting."

I know many agnostics and atheists don't care
to hear about "the Bible" or what it says.
And yet, the book contains much wisdom and
many instructive stories.

I recommend reading Daniel, Chapter 5 for a
story about another king, a king much like
George W. Bush -- a king who also was weighed
and found wanting.

George Bush didn't build the levees or break
them. He didn't even know that they existed.
Complete ignorance. Apathetic ignorance. If he
were a CEO, he would now be frantically pulling
the golden ripcord on his golden parachute and
hoping not to be indicted.

Hurricane Katrina may have been a natural
disaster, an "Act of God", but the levees breaking
was the work of man. But who knew the levees
wouldn't hold?

Besides everyone who knew anything, that is.

This isn't just about Bush though. This is about
Americans and their government. The fact is
that many people were weighed in the balances
and found wanting. And there were no doubt
many heroes, people who died trying to save
others.

Be glad if you were not there for the
testing, but also learn from the test and
imagine how you yourself will behave when your
days of trials arrive.

Now, the New Orleans mayor, his government, and
most of his police evacuated themselves, leaving
behind hundreds of empty buses that would later be
covered by the flood, along with the drowned
citizens who were left to die.

And the police in Gretna blocked the bridge
out of New Orleans to save themselves and
their city. Hundreds of people trying to
evacuate New Orleans were turned back
by the Gretna police, who used firearms
to threaten the people with their lives
for daring to cross the bridge to safety!

These same people fleeing to Gretna were
hungry and thirsty, because FEMA turned
away aid and refused to airdrop supplies
to the survivors because FEMA wanted to
force people to evacuate. FEMA didn't want
people getting too comfortable at food
drop sites!

And some of the evacuees had hired private buses
to come and rescue them. They paid $25,000
of their own money to obtain transportation
out of town. But as soon as the buses hit
the city limits, the US military commandeered
the buses for their own use -- leaving the
evacuees no choice but to try to flee to
Gretna.

Anyone who wasn't in New Orleans should be
grateful for this lesson in reality, the
reality of how government works, and how
people react in times of trouble.

The poor people of New Orleans were left
to die. When they didn't die, they were
prevented from leaving. When they asked
for food and water, King Bushazar sent
50,000 soldiers. And now, the King's friends
ask for $200 billion so that they can grow
even richer rebuilding on top of the graves
of the poor people who were, in essence,
murdered by government.

As for Bush, FEMA, DHS and the rest of the
politicians, you have been weighed in the
balance and found wanting. The story of
Katrina will never be forgotten as long as
there are people on the Earth.

The story of Daniel, Chapter 5:25-28 (NIV)
is for you politicians. Nay! It is about you!

Mene: God has numbered the days of your reign
and brought it to an end.

Tekel: You have been weighed on the scales and
found wanting.

Peres: Your kingdom is divided and given to
the Medes and Persians."

Perhaps if Americans stop accepting the lies,
the propaganda, the graft, the crimes against
humanity, the incompetent, self-serving leadership
of the U.S. and once again become heroic AMERICANS,
proud and free, then perhaps more disasters
can be avoided. This means throwing the bums
out, impeaching them and voting them out! And
then recreating a government of honest men and
women who uphold their oaths to defend the
Constitution and the Bill of Rights, and who
serve Americans instead of serving corporations.
