Come help our community of formerly homeless build a natural materials shade structure in our garden. Learn natural building techniques and help empower a community at the same time! Food will be provided. There is no cost, but donations are always welcome. This project is being sponsored by the Alameda Point Collaborative supportive housing community, and City Repair East Bay.
City Repair is a budding group in the East Bay
modelled on Portland's highly successful community building project: "The City Repair Project is group of citizen activists creating public gathering places and helping others to creatively transform the places where they live." More at http://cityrepair.org/
The Alameda Point Collaborative is a unique
neighborhood located on 34 acres of Alameda Point. We are formerly homeless residents, staff and volunteers who are dedicated to building our lives in a compassionate community. Together we are one community enriching lives through the sharing of resources and talents. More at http://www.apcollaborative.org
