We will explore the wisdom and experience the healing potential of the ancient dance forms of the region of Thrace, Bulgaria, Macedonia, and other regions of Eastern Europe. Over millenia, people performed these dances in community as an expression of their inter-connectedness, and as acknowledgement of their dependence upon the benevolence of Mother Gaia. There was a symbiotic exchange of energy between the individuals and between the community and the Earth upon which they danced. The dances themselves range from absolute trance-inducing simplicity to mind-boggling complexity; there will be a gradual progression towards the more unusual rhythms and combinations, but the emphasis will be on the unity of movement and envisioning the beautiful, peaceful world we desire to help create. $75. Dates: Tuesday’s, Sept. 20, 27, Oct. 4; 7:30--9:30 pm. Information: (707) 546-4386 or email Jana at janarosa@sonic.net
