John Stayton, cofounder of the MBA program in Sustainable Enterprise at New College of California, will explore ways in which one’s passionate interests can successfully meet the market. Whether you are considering starting a home-based enterprise to supplement income, a neighborhood retail store, an internet business or a telecom start-up, learn how to improve the chances that your enterprise will make it. John will discuss neighborhood and entrepreneur support networks, sharing costs and resources, and alternative sources of funding. He will also discuss the trends that are leading to a resurgence of neighborhood businesses addressing local needs. This will be a lively, participatory presentation of how to achieve personal growth, community improvement and sustainable livelihood through entrepreneurship. Free
