"Bring Them Home Now" Tour: from Crawford, TX to Washington D.C

by MFSO

The Bring Them Home Now Bus Tour is crossing the country from Crawford Texas to
Washington DC - see http://www.bringthemhomenowtour.org for all the details!
Dear Military Families,

The Bring Them Home Now Bus Tour is crossing the country from Crawford Texas to
Washington DC - see http://www.bringthemhomenowtour.org for all the details!

During August, 2005, Gold Star and military families, Iraq War Veterans and other
Veterans traveled to Crawford, Texas to join MFSO member and Gold Star Families for
Peace co-founder Cindy Sheehan as she waited for vacationing President George Bush
to meet with her and answer questions about the "noble cause" that had taken the
life of her son Casey Sheehan in Sadr City, Iraq.

On August 31st, four buses left Camp Casey in Crawford, Texas. One of these buses,
the Veterans For Peace's "White Rose," set off for Covington, Louisiana (near New
Orleans) with water, food, medical supplies and other items from Camp Casey in
Crawford to help the people on the Gulf Coast who are suffering the devastating
effects of Hurricane Katrina. Near the end of this note there is information on how
to make donations to support the VFP's hurricane relief efforts.

The three other vehicles, with members of Gold Star Families for Peace, Military
Families Speak Out, Iraq Veterans Against the War and Veterans for Peace aboard, are
headed across the U.S. stopping at cities and towns along the way. All three buses
will be converging in Washington, D.C. in time for the national United for Peace and
Justice rally and march there on September 24th.

To find the stops these buses will be making, and to get in touch with local
organizers about attending and/or speaking at an event in your area, go to the
website http://www.bringthemhomenowtour.org and click on "Tour Stops" on the left.

If you are not in an area where the Tour is going through, you may want to create a
"virtual bus tour" event. Members of Military Families Speak Out, together with some
combination of Veterans for Peace, Gold Star Families for Peace, and/or Iraq
Veterans Against the War, can contact others in their community to help set up an
event that features speakers from MFSO, VFP, GSFP and/or IVAW. The
http://www.bringthemhomenowtour.org website can publicize these "virtual bus tour stops" --
just send information with the date, time, place, city/state and summary of the
event (including who will speak and brief bios) to info [at] bringthemhomenowtour.org --
and your event can go up on the tour website!

Whether or not you can join a tour stop or create a "virtual tour" stop, everyone
can join the email list from the http://www.bringthemhomenowtour.org website and get
regular updates and stories from the tour.

Then on September 24th you can hook up with the largest contingent of military and
Gold Star families, Iraq Veterans and other Veterans ever assembled when we all come
together in Washington, D.C. to say, louder and stronger than ever, "Bring Them Home
NOW!" More information about the events in Washington, D.C. on September 24-26 will
be coming to you soon from MFSO.

For those wanting to contribute to the hurricane relief efforts by supporting the
work of the Veterans for Peace bus now stationed at "Camp Casey, Covington,
Louisiana" -- at the Pine View Middle School, 1115 West 28th Street, Covington, LA
70433 -- go to http://www.vfproadtrips.org/ and get information on VFP's Hurricane
Katrina Relief Effort and how you can help.

Hope to see many of you on September 24th in Washington, D.C.!

In Peace and Solidarity,
Nancy Lessin and Charley Richardson
