"A Crisis for Any African Person Is a Crisis for All Our People"

African people and their allies must come together to support the African working class and poor people suffering from the criminal neglect of the US government. The government refused to strengthen the levees to stop the flooding knowing that the only people left in New Orleans after a hurricane would be tens of thousands of African people living the low-lying areas.

Subsequent to the storm, destitute, homeless African people in much of the Gulf coast region have been turned into refugees on a scale the magnitude of which has not been seen since the exodus of African people from the South after the Civil War.

African working class people throughout the area are virtual prisoners, surrounded by the National Guard and SWAT teams who have been given "shoot to kill" orders. Rapper Kanye West expressed on national television the sentiment that is clear to African people that the government does not give a damn about black people.

The International People's Democratic Uhuru Movement is calling all African people and their allies to come together to form a response to this crisis imposed on African people by the US government.
Come out on Wednesday to show your support and organize a response that does not involve the usual criminal suspects!
