Event Type:
Teach-In
Organizer/Author:
Patrick
Location Details:
Northwest corner of City Hall. Also speaking at City Council meeting, and in front of the press.
On Tuesday, September 6th, come to spread light on the staggering lack of services to the homeless in Santa Rosa and Sonoma County. We'll camp out on City Hall, on a highly visible corner of downtown Santa Rosa, present information to City Council during their weekly, televised meeting, and spend the night out in the cold, warmed only by friendly faces and the knowledge that WE CAN make a difference.
Everyone is welcome to this event, wether you've been homeless for years, or have never been challenged to find shelter in your life. We are especially in need of those who are willing to talk to the media about their experiences on the street. Youth, adults, children, the elderly...all are encouraged to come.
We'll have music, s'mores, Food Not Bombs serving awesome vegan food, and a great time. If you would like to help out with logistics, legal observing, or media, please call Free Mind Media and ask for Patrick, or email the contact above.
We only ask that this event be a safe and sober event. Please no drugs or alcohol. Thanks.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THE DATE HAS CHANGED TO THE 6TH OF SEPTEMBER. Original date was August 30th.
