Wording of summary can influence undecided voters.
This ruling, in Sacramento [County ] Superior Court, could be appealed.

Probably a majority of California adults, as of mid-2005, favor domestic partnerships
but disfavor same-sex marriage.
On queer rights issues, non-queer opinions often vary by generation.

Public opinion surveys don't translate into votes, however,
since the oldest citizens are most likely to vote,
while the youngest adult citizens are least likely to vote.

California voters might find two competing homophobic amendments on
the June 2006 ballot. Such a traffic jam would hurt both props.

More likely,
if fascist groups can co-ordinate their hate campaigns,
voters will face one in June
and another in November.
State-wide Republican candidates would benefit from a hate amendment on the November ballot,
since this would increase turnout by the fundi-fascist wing
of California's Republican Party.
Those far-wrong folks don't much like Arnold,
but they'll choose him over a Democrat. ]
