Immigrants Fighting for their rights


A coalition of various community groups from Northern California and our allies will
unite Wednesday August 17th to have an action where we will send a message to the
legislators in Sacramento that immigrants have a right to an unmarked drivers
license and to respond to the Governors open invitation to the vigilante group, the
Minutemen!!


We had great success with our action in Sacramento (7/6/02), where more that 200
people arrived at the Capital and demanded their right to a license without marks
and that the governor revoke his statements concerning the minutemen! A marked
license can be used as another method to obtain or harass those who carry it. Our
communities wont stand for it! Immigrant rights are human rights!

From there we will form a human chain down to Cesar Chavez Street

This event will occur at the same time as a press conference in Sacramento held by
representatives from various community from Northern California!

una coalicin de varios grupos comunitarios del norte de California y aliados van a
reunir el Mircoles 17 de Agosto para tener un accin donde vamos a mandar un
mensaje a los legisladores de Sacramento que nosotros tenemos derecho a tener
licencias sin marcas y para negar la invitacin del Gobernador a los Minutemen!

!Tu vimos gran xito con nuestro viaje a Sacramento el 6 de julio! Ms de 200
inmigrantes llegaron a el Capital para exigir licencias sin marcas y para negar la
invitacin a los Minutemen a California. Dar una marca especial a las licencias de
personas indocumentadas ser utilizado como otra manera de sealar y de acosar la
gente indocumentada.
