News Advisory:

Mothers to invite President Bush to pray for the troops with them at camp this Friday.

On Monday, the moms who are camping outside of President Bush's Crawford ranch demanding answers to why their sons died in Iraq, and the Iraq war veterans who've joined them, will announce their plan to keep the pressure on President Bush to meet with them.

At the event, Cindy Sheehan and members of other military families will invite President Bush to join them in prayer at what's been dubbed "Arlington Crawford," a patch of grass outside his ranch with white crosses representing the soldiers who’ve lost their lives in Iraq.

Mothers are scheduled to take part in candlelight vigils across the country beginning Wednesday night. These mothers are supporting the Crawford moms in their demand for a meeting with the president to answer questions as why their sons were killed.

The vigils are being organized by a coalition of groups including MoveOn.org Political Action, TrueMajority and Democracy For America.

WHEN: 10:30 a.m. CDT

WHERE: Camp Casey

1: No amount of praying will end the war.

2: Those who opposed the war before it started and failed to stop it are responsible for not doing enough.

3: Anyone who pays taxes is guilty of helping to fund the war.

4: The war is illegal under international law. The commander in chief is therefore a war criminal and so are all those under his command that follow his orders. The troops are war criminals and deserve no support.

5: A people will resist the invasion and occupation of their homeland, no matter what the cost, no matter how long it takes. The people of Iraq will be free when they have driven the last US soldier from their land.

6: US citizens trying to stop the war need to strike at the root cause of this war: The USA.

The only difference between a legal war and an illegal war is who you ask. You want to badger Bush, more power to you. You belittle or slander the soldiers, then I wish a year in Sudan on you. Fly your happy ass to Baghdad. If that's too hard then go to Amman or Kuwait City and drive in to Baghdad. Stop enjoying the benefits of American society and actually live with the Iraqis. The soldiers do.
I really doubt that you will do anything so drastic. It would be too hard on you to seperate yourself from family, to give up creature comforts for a cause you say you believe in. Too dangerous too, you might get hurt, even die. It is easy for you to sling shit from the sidelines. Surprise me. Hell, come visit me in Afghanistan if Iraq is too hot for you.
BTW, Sudan is the new in place to be a mercenary.

US soldiers do not live with Iraqis -- sorry

if that was the case, there would not be a raging insurgency. there would be no need for a green zone and Bremer walls. Melany Morgan's "tell the world how wonderful Iraq is" tour would have actually included casual walks around Baghdad for witty banter with locals, as she had promoted it prior to embarking on her get-the-good-news-out tour.

soldiers live in Iraq, that is true, but quite different than saying "with" Iraqis. sure, there are some Iraqis welcomed into the green zone but on the whole no one is living *with* anyone as broadly as you make it sound.

nice dare, to call people to come over there, but it just shows how you don't get it. we, Americans, do not belong there -- ever since the Brits took over most of the Middle East at the dawn of the 20th century, Westerners have been meddling in their affairs to the detriment of the natives. why on earth would the sensible people who know BushCo lied us into war choose to go be in the middle of that mess? and how does destroying a secular country, granted, run by a baddie, but a non-threatening to the US baddie, and turning it into a theocracy aligned with Iran benefit the US?

yes, soldiers sign on to take risks, believing the sacrifices they make will benefit their fellow citizens here in the US, and for that they deserve a certain amount of respect. the problem is not with the soldiers and the sacrifices they choose to make, but with leaders like BushCo who will abuse that willingness to make the ultimate sacrifice so that Halliburton and Bechtel can make billions while they play out their game of Risk with not a drop of blood shed by their own chickenhearted aristocratic families

why don't you dare Bush to live amongst the Iraqis? he's the one the most down for this misadventure. hell, even send one of his daughters over there if the cause is so worthy

The preceding was meant for the dead Iraqi character. The war in Afghanistan would be a legal war by the definitions you cited. It just seems that you despise any military action taken by Americans. While I doubt the reasons for going into Iraq, Afghanistan was pretty clear cut. The fact that the place is a backwards shithole that we are trying to drag into a modern world that has no gang rapes or honor killings is another matter. That may never happen in my lifetime. Something that should make you happy, as of Jan 2006 there will be no US troops in Kandahar Province, Afghanistan. Canada, France,Britain and the netherlands will have troops here instead.
The invitation is always open, if you care to see what's really happening.

The insurgency now is aimed more at destroying the Iraqi government than at the US soldiers. It's harder to kill an American soldier than a group of kids.
I agree that we don't belong there, but it's an arranged marriage we are stuck with for awhile. Will any of the Bush family come over here? Doubtful. Will any of you? Again, doubtful. Why do I keep insisting that you come over? Because there is a major disconnect between this world and the average American life. Writing you about it only incites disbelief. So come and see for yourself. The goal I see is to make this a self sufficient country that's not a breeding ground for terrorism. The goal is about the same for Iraq. I don't listen to any right wring types or govt stooge to get that. I see that. I see a military that wants to help these folks take care of themselves so they can leave and never return.
