Fight the Flight website is up!
Here's the latest update on the campaign to stop the aerial spraying of pesticides in Sacramento County. I'll see you at the meeting tonight!
Action Alert: 8/11/05
The Fight the Flight website is now up, http://www.fighttheflight.com . Today it is
a temporary page about tonight's meeting at county chambers. The website is
being updated frequently. There should be much more information posted
tomorrow. Please pass along the website to people. It will have info about why the spraying does more harm than good and what people can do to stop the spraying.
Also, there is an online petition. If you haven't already signed it please
check it out: http://www.petitiononline.com/Mosquito/petition.html
Thanks,
Jennifer DeLugach

Kim and I just put this together to get people to take action to try to stop
the spraying. Kim does not have computer access right now, so she asked me
to email it to you all so you could email it to your lists. Feel free to
make changes as you see necessary. If you have questions, please call Kim
322-0232 (tomorrow day).

Take Action to stop the spraying of Sacramento.
TV stations are reporting that starting Thursday, August 11, everything
south of the American River will be sprayed with a mixture of 6% pyrethrum
and 60% piperonyl butoxide, a suspected carcinogen, and 34% of undisclosed
material.
Although at the Tuesday, August 9 City Council meeting, Mayor Heather Fargo
denied that the city had any control over the spraying, this is not true.
She appointed the city's representative to the Mosquito Abatement District
Board, Dave Tamayo. Call Fargo and demand that the City's representative
insist that the aerial spraying be stopped until the public has an
opportunity for input into this decision which is affecting all of our
health. Contact Mayor Fargo at 916-808-5300 or hfargo [at] cityofsacramento.org
Attend the Mosquito Abatement District meeting this Thursday, August 11,
6:30pm, 700 H Street, Sacramento.
For more information about the effects of the spraying and efforts to halt
it, go to http://www.organicsacramento.org.
