· Israeli settlers have continued to attack Palestinian civilians and property in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip; a Palestinian child was run down by an Israeli settler and a number of houses and civilian facilities were demolished by IOF in the West Bank.
Summary
Israeli violations of international law continued in the Occupied Palestinian Territory (OPT) during the reporting period (21 – 27 July 2005):
Killing and Shooting: On 22 July 2004, IOF killed a Palestinian civilian in the old town of Hebron as they opened fire indiscriminately after a Palestinian gunman fired at an Israeli military post in the area. IOF left the victim to bleed to death. On the same day, a Palestinian civilian died from an injury he had sustained last week when IOF extra-judicially killed four members of Hamas in Gaza City. On 27 July 2005, IOF killed another Palestinian civilian in Jenin city who was throwing stones against IOF soldiers who had incurred into the city, surrounded a house and were demolishing the external wall of the house. Also during the reported period, 16 Palestinian civilians, including a mother and her child and six other children, were injured in the West Bank. Three others civilians, including a child, were injured in Rafah, southern Gaza Strip after IOF shelling in the area.
Incursions: IOF conducted 35 military incursions into Palestinian areas (34 in the West Bank and one in the Gaza Strip). During these incursions, IOF raided houses and arrested 33 Palestinian civilians.
Restrictions on Movement: IOF have continued to impose a tightened siege on the OPT, including Jerusalem. IOF have continued to close Erez crossing for the third consecutive week. IOF have also continued to prevent Palestinian civilians aged 16-35 from traveling through Rafah International Crossing Point. On 22 July 2005, IOF resumed using a controversial checking machine. In the West Bank, IOF have continued to impose a tightened siege on Tulkarm and closed Za'tra checkpoint, south of Nablus. They also erected a number of checkpoints and arrested at least 12 Palestinian civilians, including two women and a child. In the West Bank PCHR field workers documented five case of inhumane treatment at military checkpoints.
Annexation Wall: IOF have continued to construct the Annexation Wall inside the West Bank territory. IOF have continued to construct a section of the Wall to the northeast of East Jerusalem. They have also continued to establish a military post near Qalandya checkpoint, south of Ramallah. The Israeli government decided to intensify the construction of the Wall around occupied Jerusalem. On Friday, 22 July 2005, IOF informed residents of Wad Rahhal and Jourat al-Sama'a areas, south of Bethlehem, that 603 donums of their agricultural land would be seized for the purpose of the construction of the Wall. On Wednesday, 27 July 2005, IOF started razing dozens of donums of agricultural land near Tarqumea, west of Hebron city. In addition, IOF used force to disperse peaceful demonstrations organised by Palestinian civilians and international solidarity activists in protest to the construction of the Wall. Seven Palestinian civilians suffered from tear gas inhalation.
Illegal Settler Activities: Israeli settlers in breach of international humanitarian law continue to reside in the OPT and have launched a series of attacks against Palestinian civilians and property. A Palestinian child was killed after he was run down by an Israeli settler in Hebron. A Palestinian civilian was also injured in another attack by settlers. IOF also razed areas of Palestinian land in Kufor Qaddoum village near Qalqilya. They also demolished seven houses and shop of furniture in other areas of the West Bank.

wow-thanks---good vid.
this is important work and indybay needs it to break through the zionist walls of deceit and expensive public relations. palestinians cannot compete with the revisionist history lie machine.
Now wheres todays list of Palestinian crimes against humanity? Or does being Arab give one a free pass to commit homicides whenever one feels like it?
Your absolutely correct. Coverage should be fair and balanced. Better start writing the networks: they're showing a great imbalance in their news coverage. See here:
http://ifamericansknew.org/media/net-report.html
http://ifamericansknew.org/media/net-report.html
For more information:
http://ifamericansknew.org/media/net-repor...
3652 Palestinians have died, 1063 Israels have died, since this latest struggle for Palestinian Freedom began.
If the Palestinians are committing more crimes, should the Israel death toll not be higher then the Palestinians?
Who are the real victims?
End the cycle of violence
2005 is slipping away, where is that Viable Palestinian State called for in the Road Map to Peace
End the Blood shed and the Conflict, Palestinian State Now:
End the Conflict by making fair and just borders on the pre 1967 Green Line.
Once you have the Palestinian State in the Whole of the West Bank and Gaza. You are on the Road to Peace and the Israeli Arabs have a better chance of equality as the Jewish Settlers will have a better chance at Peace. After all what is wrong with the State of Israel with a Jewish majority and an Arab minority?....And what is wrong With Palestine with a Palestinian majority and a Jewish minority?....Nothing, if both nations were at Peace instead of One Group under the Brutal Occupation and Oppression of the Other.
Once you have a Palestinian State, the Israeli Arabs who do not like living in Israel can move to Palestine, Just like the Jewish settlers who do not like living in the West Bank and Gaza under Palestinian Rule can move to Israel Proper.
Do the right thing and Peace Will Follow......
Hypocrisy and double standard does not lead to peace, and people are not blind and they can see the truth as it really is.
Thirty-six years of war should be enough for such a small number of people, when you consider the World Population.
Allowing the Palestinian People to have their small state in the Whole of the West Bank and Gaza can solve this conflict.
There are 1,200,000 or so Arabs living inside Israel Proper.
There are 400,000 or so Jews living inside the West Bank and Gaza.
Trying to remove all the settlement can be an almost undoable task.
So Set the Borders for Israel to it Pre 1967 Border (Green Line) and have the State of Palestine inside the West Bank and Gaza.
If the U.N. can decide the Borders of Israel in 1948,
The U.N. can decide the Borders of Palestine in 2005.
You would end up with Israel with a majority Jewish Population and Palestine with a majority Muslim Population.
This would allow for the Israeli Military to Guard and Control the Israeli pre 1967 borders instead of confiscating Palestinian Land and Demolishing Palestinian Homes in the West Bank and Gaza that only goes to fuel the need for the Palestinian People to fight for their Freedom.
The Jews who do not like living in the new Palestinian State can feel free to move to Israel if they so choose.
The Arabs living inside Israel can feel free to move to the new Palestinian State if they so choose.
Almost every nation on earth has more then one ethnic group or religious group, so why not Israel and Palestine?
It would sure be better then the never-ending conflict we have right now.
Who has died and how in this struggle for Palestinian Freedom?
How can one say that Israel is the victim when the Palestinians have 3 times as many dead.

Appreciate thoughtful commentary. Also, thanks for the 'if americans knew' link-very informative, accurate and thorough.
While the long analogy between Israel and Serbia regarding compulsory population transfer (Ethnic Cleansing) has a great propaganda value, in fact, there has never been Transfer of the Palestinians from Israel. Kach, the political party that advocated Transfer, was held by Israel to be illegal as racist and banned.
It would be accurate to add that AFTER THE BEGINNING OF THE CURRENT INTIFADA many Palestinian refugees' economic situation has actually worsened under Israeli occupation. The”Golden Age“ of the Palestinian economy was from 1967 through1993, and declined after Oslo and PA administration. It would also be telling to remind readers that UNRWA, a United Nations entity ONLY serves Palestinians and no other refugee populations.
As to “ looted Palestinian capital”, this presumes that these Palestinians actually owned the land upon which the resided rather than the actual situation where a huge number were tenant farmers on rented land for generation after generation. Often these tenant farmers were surprised to find that their absentee landlord had already sold the land to Jews. Its really parcel by parcel .
As to repatriation in other Arab countries as a “cost”, it is forgotten that the Palestinians’ labor has a significant value well beyond any asserted costs (exploitation of labor equals profits), which is why so many were in Kuwait before the first Gulf War in the first place.
Historically, Israeli efforts to improve the lives of the Palestinian refugees under its direct control have been rebuffed by the Palestinian authorities as “collaboration’,and the potential recipients, threatened.
Interestingly, the asserted “Palestinian right of return of refugees” as a right that flows from generation to generation is unique and unsupported by international law. No other refugee population asserts an inheritable right of return of refugees. By law, once a refugee is peaceably re-settled, they are no longer refugees. For example, the millions of post WII refugees are no longer refugees and neither are their children.
A better anology would be to the Sudeten Germans of Czecheslovakia who sided with the Nazis and were never returned to or compensated for their holdings in Czecheslovakia as a result.

>>>To accept compulsory population transfer in principle would set a dangerous precedent for international relations, and many nations would use such an excuse to cleanse themselves from "unwanted minorities". In other words, if it is accepted in principle that one can transfer and dispossess the Palestinian people so that Jews can have a "Jewish state," then
Why would it be unacceptable to "transfer" 10 million Mexican Americans to Mexico? or
To "transfer" a million Kosovan Albanians to Albania?, or
Even to "transfer" 6 million American Jews to the "Jewish state"?<<<more zionist arguments

Excellent!!! It says it all....
So if Israel wants to end this conflict and be seen as a fair and just State it will allow the Palestinian People to have their tiny State of Palestine, called for in the Road Map to Peace in the Whole of the West Bank and Gaza only 22% of what is TODAY Israel, West Bank and Gaza.
22% for some 4,000,000 Palestinians
that leaves 78% for 5,000,000 Israelis inside the pre 1967 (Green Line) border.
Not to much to ask for Peace...
Do the math...Who gets the most land per person?
