Green Party Seeks Campaign Reform
Greens cite need for state campaign reform after conviction of 2 San Diego councilmen for trading favors for 'nude' contributions
Following the conviction of San Diego council members for trading political favors for campaign contributions from special interests, the Green Party is renewing its call for campaign reform. The council members were convicted of accepting large sums of money in exchange for easing laws against nude dancers touching customers. The Green Party denies all contributions from business groups and corporations, encourages public financing, and limits campaign spending. Both the Republicans and Democrats refuse such policies, leaving them subject to business influence. Read the full press release for details.
