You’re invited to a Press Conference and Rally to Fight the Anti-Choice Bigots!
***10 years ago Religious Zealots would not step foot infront of OUR Clinics. Now, they are emboldened. We need to show up and be a voice for freedom in San Francisco
These people want to stop women from being able to get into the clinic and we need to be there to KEEP OUR CLINIC OPEN!

When? This Saturday, July 23rd at 9AM.

Where? Planned Parenthood on Eddy St. (Between Van Ness and Franklin)

Who? Confirmed speakers include: Susan King, SF Green Party, Vicki Leidner, Code Pink, Nancy Reiko Kato, Bay Area Radical Women, Lichi D’Amelio, International Socialist Organization and patient at Planned Parenthood Golden Gate

Why? So many reasons! First, fanatical right-wing organization, the American Life League, has sent their so-called “Crusade for Life” to San Francisco. A cursory glance at their websites, http://www.all.org and http://www.crusadeforlife2005.com, and you will find that they are on a mission to end legal abortions and take us back to the Dark Ages of deadly back-alley abortions. A woman’s right to self-determination over her own body, her own future, and her own safety is of no importance to them whatsoever. Even in the cases of rape, incest, or if the woman’s health or life is at stake. They’re also opposed to birth control and sex education! They showed up to Planned Parenthood last Saturday where they were outnumbered and confronted with signs and unapologetic chants for every woman’s right to a safe, legal abortion. If they show up AGAIN, we should let them know AGAIN that San Francisco is a pro-choice town! Either way, there is a group of anti-choicers who show up there on a regular basis – unopposed!
Second, George W. Bush just nominated John Roberts to fill the vacancy, left by Sandra Day O’Connor, for the Supreme Court. This man is a dedicated anti-abortionist who spent a good portion of his legal career trying to overturn Roe v. Wade. He is also a friend of Operation Rescue, a home-grown, right-wing, terrorist network that is best known for physical harassment of women trying to enter abortion clinics, bombing abortion clinics, and killing and maiming nurses and doctors who provide safe abortions for women. With no potential for a filibuster from the Democrats, all signs are pointing to his swift confirmation. We have to have our voices heard.
And if that weren’t enough – California is introducing a Parental Notification Initiative that will be on the ballot this November. It’s called PROP 73 – and, if passed, it will result in the DEATHS of countless young women, too desperate and scared to talk to their parents about their situation.

That’s why we’re saying ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!
NO to John Roberts! NO to PROP 73! And NO to the “Crusade for Life”!
