cannabis dispensing collectives on Monday, July

from the first draft, which called for banning
the sale of edibles among other things.
Patients and advocates are still concerned about
to provisions in the proposed guidelines. One
would require a dispensing collective to keep the
original copy of the doctor's letter of
recommendation for each member. Another
provision would require the collective to keep
records of individual sales to patients. Both of
these provisions raise serious concerns for
patient privacy and safety. I will be meeting
with West Hollywood Mayor Abbé Land this
afternoon in one last effort to have these
provisions removed or modified.
The interim guidelines are intended to be in
place until the City of West Hollywood creates a
final ordinance at some point in the next nine
months. However, many advocates believe that the
final guidelines will be nearly identical to the
interim guidelines.
Patients will be speaking in support of the
guidelines and calling for a few last
improvements at Monday night's meeting.
I will let you know how it turns out.
