Karl Rove character assassinated JH Hatfield, author of "Fortunate Son"
Karl Rove was one of Hatfields' sources for the story of Bush's 1972 cocaine arrest described in "Fortunate Son". See book at: http://www.softskull.com/detailedbook.php?isbn=1-887128-84-0 - 11k
Rove supervised a smear campaign to discredit Hatfield, to save Bushes chances of "winning" the 2000 election. The first edition of the book was burned by the publishers. Soft Skull Press of New York defiantly published a second edition, in which Hatfield describes nasty phone calls from Rove trying to stop him from publishing. Soon after, Hatfield was found dead in a motel room, in a suspicious "suicide".
