War is the Symptom, Capitalism is the Disease

by ~Bradley (bradley [at] riseup.net)
On July 8, there was a West Coast Anti-Capitalist Mobilization Against the Group of Eight (G8) held in the Mission District of San Francisco. The demonstration in SF was in solidarity with the mobilization against the G8 summit taking place in Scotland.

There were also solidarity demonstrations that took place in Kansas City and Richmond.

That was my favorite sketchers store, you bastards.
Do you really think destroying part of a community is helping your cause? I dont get it. Seems to me your just pushing more people to hate you.

I am interested in what the charges would be. The latest report is that the bleeding officer was hit by a skateboard, but that the person doing this ran away. This is a photo of the first arrest (can barely see an officer in dark clothes arresting first guy on 23rd). The man in yellow pants is clearly standing some distance away, and you can see that other onlookers are all at least 15 ft away. A few were chanting but none were interfering when I came, but a few seconds later, another car pulls up and the assisting officer pulls out a taser weapon with laser scope. A few onlookers reacted by not running away, but by standing close by and asking what it was. Perhaps this guy was picked from this group for not leaving the scene, so I suspect his charges could not be felony level. Video seems to show him standing on the sidewalk watching. It is less clear why the first arrest occurred.

fuck that.... let them wear a fucking mask....

it is not up to the photographer to decide who wants their face blurred and who does not

we are all free to cover up or not take action, or whatever... my2cents

people can't assume that every photographer is going to black out people's faces.

I keep on hearing comments about how protestors are rich and grew up in privelage and how that fact discredits them. First, not all people who choose to partake in damaging property are rich and spoiled. Even if you have grown up in "white suburban privelage" doesn't make what you do now completely pointless. I was raised surrounded by vile gentrification and excess, and grew to hate and reject it. I am now well below the "poverty" line and living a far more meaningful life. Just because I grew up in privelage does not render my voice obselete, it just gives me a different perspective. Just because I have not been subjected to some types of oppression doesn't mean I have to exist in thankful indifference.

wow, I can't believe you are all so childish as to need good street cred in order to be able to vandalize a neighborhood.

It doesn't matter if you are rich or not, you just need the following:

1. A total disrespect for other.
2. The desire to destroy what others have worked hard to afford.
3. No self respect for yourself.
4. A malicious desire to cause harm to others. (yeah, you can keep saying that lighting a mattress under a car with people in it wasn't intended to cause hard ... keep saying it until a car explodes and kills a few people)

See, it is simple. You don't need to have grown up underprivelaged. You don't need to grow up rich. You just need to be evil and selfish, and believe that violence is the only answer. Or, just use a cause as an excuse to destroy things.

I wonder how many racists you had in your group that were just there to destroy an hispanic neighborhood.

My name is Gabe Meyers and I am the man being choked in this photo. I am being charged with felony attempted lynching( amongst other charges) because the prosecutor says that I asked for help from the surrounding crowd while in this choke hold. My next court apperance will be on Wednesday July 27, 2005, SF superior court, department 12 at 8:45. Please come and support me. Thank You

You sir are a criminal. Dont expect any sympathy because a police officer gave you what you deserved.

You complain at the state of the world now but really you should think yourself lucky i dont make the laws otherwise these lawless protests would be met by soldiers with with shoot to kill orders.
