20 People Picket to Support MUNI Drivers Free Speech
Members of MUNI Social Strike and other groups came out this morning to support MUNI Operators Victor Grayson and Bari McGruder who were being tried today by their union for speaking both against working conditions for MUNI operators and the proposed fare hike and service cuts for riders.
On June 16th, The Examiner published the following article about the possibility of a MUNI operator wildcat strike at the end of the month:

More recently, drivers Victor Greyson and Bari McGruder recieved notices from MUNI executive Michael Burns as well as from the union, sanctioning them for speaking out against the layoffs, fare hike, service cuts, and other attacks on workers.
This morning, Victor and Bari attended a hearing by the transit union, who are bringing them up on various charges, all related to their decision to exercise their right to free speech and talk to the media about their situation.
About 20 people gathered outside of the hearing with picket signs and chanted in support of Victor and Bari, against the fare hike, and in support of the right of workers to take direct action, especially when their union is refusing to represent them.
