Barcelona solidarity action for Italian anarchist prisoners
June 26, 2005
On June 25, about 300 people marched through the streets of Barcelona, Spain, in solidarity with Italian anarchists imprisoned after a series of raids in May. The police presence was heavy, and one person was arrested before the march even began. After several police attacks, demonstrators began to overturn dumpsters in the streets and smash the windows of commercial buildings. According to corporate news agencies and the cops, three police officers were injured and seven people were arrested, including Italian, Greek, Czech and Chilean citizens.
That same day, another solidarity demonstration for Italian anarchist prisoners was held in Warsaw, Poland, at the Italian embassy.
