*Super Berkeleyans Organizing for Library Defense (BOLD) will hold a rally and press conference to protest the Board of Library Trustees' installation of **Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) tracking tags in our Berkeley Public Libraries' books, CDs, videos and DVDs.
We support a potential tax increase for the library only if RFID is taken out.
Join a fun rally with music, entertainment, (stilt-walkers, unicyclists, etc.)BOLD speakers and RFID experts (Electronic Frontier Foundation, ACLU, SNAFU, Library Users Association) on health, labor and privacy issues and the technology's workability. The BOLD Rally will precede:

Sign a speaker card and tell the Council you are in favor of a potential tax increase ONLY IF they stop the RFID program and take out the Radio Frequency ID tags from the Berkeley Public Library materials.
Please also email Mayor Tom Bates and the City Council members to increase the library tax only if RFID is taken out: clerk@ci.berkeley.ca.us Website: libraryadvocates.org
