El Polin Springs at the Presidio of San Francisco

When the first strangers landed in San Francisco - they went to El Polin Springs to quench their thirst. In later years thousands went to the El Polin Springs to quench their thirst. We have just a few natural springs left in San Francisco one of them - is El Polin Springs.
Just 300 years ago all that one saw in San Francisco was pristine.

Then the strangers came and all that was good was disturbed. Concrete jungles took the place of natural forest. Native plants and grass just disappeared because of over grazing and burning.

People started building homes everywhere. Thousands came to live in San Francisco and those that chose to live had to drink water and much of this - the water they got from the natural springs and wells.

Today we have a couple of natural springs left - two of them are found at the Presidio of San Francisco. One is Los Lobos creek and the other El Polin Springs:
